I'm not a technical genius, so i came to you guys. And don't get 8GB RAM.
unfortunately, the 8gb RAM is the highest you could get.
unfortunately, the 8gb RAM is the highest you could get.
He meant lower. 4gb is the upper limit of what games can effectively use today, I'd say.
alright, thanks for explaning that. again, i'm not a very smart individual when it comes to computers.
alright, thanks for explaning that. again, i'm not a very smart individual when it comes to computers.
Drop down to 4GB RAM and get a better GPU, if you can get a 5750 or something along that line you'll be gaming at a somewhat high resolution on not to new games.
this is another line up, i took away the TB storage, lowered the RAM, and it is now 1230 ish. Just out of curiosity, see what you can do with a 15.6" laptop, unless you're dead set on 17". It'll save you a bit of battery life, and maybe a few bucks. 17" laptops are kinda huge...

I'm open for anything. I'm on an iPod touch at the moment, but when I have acres to a computer again I'll change to that setup.
I'd go with a 15" laptop, it is lighter, has longer battery live and the resolution of 1920x1080 is to high for full gaming on that card.
What is your budget OP? You might want to take a look at other brands, such as Asus.
I don't really have a budget, but we want to keep it around 1200 ish.

Get this instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157293 No more than 60C under full load
It gets really hot and it has low build quality.
Unless you own that laptop, I'd say that you're just making this up. Also, the laptop you've recommended is utter crap comparing to it in both terms of value and hardware

There is no laptop with 5870m that is good, read some reviews if you don't believe me. [editline]6th December 2010[/editline] And also notice that laptop that I recommended is only 1366x768
What a bad choice, get a Lenovo http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:item.detail?vt=5&GroupID=243&Code=06465BU&hide_menu_area=true&current-category-id=653343E0DE54435882FABC3CE1BC569A

do you go outside with your laptop to play games or are you too poor to afford a desk?
do you go outside with your laptop to play games or are you too poor to afford a desk?
Both of laptops are 15,6", and one you posted is quite overpriced actually

Also, the laptop you've recommended is utter crap comparing to it in both terms of value and hardware
It gets hot, I know that, as my friend has goot the exact same model, but it isn't that much of a problem in the end.
