Been waiting for this, have it on PS3 already but prefer my PC. It is a pretty great game.
Thought this would be interesting for those who do not know, TF2, Total War and Football Manager characters were also found in the disc for the console versions.
A Dev on the Sega forum did at least acknowledge they were PC only in a post but seemingly still no official promotions for them.

Don't ignore this because it has Sonic on it. This game is fantastic, the best kart racer in a looong time. Beats the recent Mario Kart by a long shot.

Picked this game up on PS3 and, some framerate problems aside, it's legitimately the best kart racer since Crash Team Racing in my opinion, save perhaps for Sonic & Sega All-Stars which is equally good.

Ryo's not in it, but there's a chance they might add him. Sumo Digital (the devs) did a fan poll where fans could vote for three characters that Sumo would submit to Sega as possible DLC characters. The ones picked were Ryo, Hatsune Miku, and Segata fucking Sanshiro.

He's a Statue in one of the stages along with the Bonanza Bros who also dissapeared as driver in "Transformed"

They're planning on doing DLC characters; the developers held a poll on their forums and said they would choose three of the top-voted characters and ask Sega if they would be allowed.
The finalists were:
Ryo Hazuki (Was already in the first one, so licensing may be easy.)
Hatsune Miku
[b]Segata Fucking Sanshiro[/b]
Vectorman
Bayonetta
Ristar (Is already in the game as a side character, so this is easy too.)
There's no guarantee that Sega will say yes to any of these, though. But I'm just throwing it out there that the devs are working to make the game better and that Ryo may be on his way.

Man, around PS3's first few weeks after release when I played it more I had extreme difficulty getting into Online race matches, forget battle that was the definition of impossible.
I actually expect a turn around due to those exclusive characters for PC, at least for a while.
Though I guess a large lack of people Online early on may have been due to everyone wanting to unlock characters and their mods first, considering real effort has to be put to do hard and expert that probably hurt it a lot.
Would of been better if there was a "sega miles" alternative like in the first game.

Of course I forgot to mention the big downside in this game and that is that the networking for online mode is pretty crap.

Also do not bump into other cars online unless you deliberately are trying to get slingshotted off the map at the speed of Sanic.
Now, if only they could iron out these bugs because having this sort of crap in what is probably the main attraction for most people is pretty abysmal.
