Buying a monitor instead of a new rig how do I get sound?

Hey there.
So my laptop just died, and I figure instead of buying a whole new system. I will just get a super large monitor.
And run the TV and playstation through that.
The only thing I am wondering about is how will I get sound for the tv / playstation if i am only running the video through the monitor.
Is there a way that this can be done?
The PS3 probably has a separate audio plug for other speakers, and since monitors don't usually have coax connections for cable, you might have to run it through a computer with a TV tuner.
A great monitor would only cost you about $250 max.
it depends what you mean by "super large"
around 22" yes a monitor would be better
30" no, they're incredibly expensive and you're better off with a TV
Im going to buy this monitor

Acer X233H 23inch Wide 16:9 Full HD LCD Monitor Black.
for $250
Reviews say its a good price
my pal says that there is an adaptor that I can get, to change the output to rca.
And I think all i will have to do is plug the aux into my speakers and I should be ok.
not too sure about how im going to get the tv on there though.
No that's a bad price.

if you want TV through a monitor you have to have a PC with a TV tuner card
My grandpa has this XPS One where you can watch tv and shit through it. Pretty neat. There's this chord where its a Audio/Video to a SVideo. That would probably work best on any computer if you want a ps2 going to it.
aww I just bought mine for $230, havent had a chance to unbox it, had to get back to work.
I think if i get that coverter all I will have to get is a jack to change the size of the audio output.
My sharemate had a little usb stick that he was able to get tv from, even the hd channels.
Looks like I will have to go get them tomorrow.
