Help me build a gaming rig for £500 - £600, or $800 - $1000.

Right, so it's time to get a new rig! My current 9800GTX+, 3GB of DDR2 and Q6600 aren't cutting it anymore.
Can someone here help me? I don't know a great deal about picking new parts, and I'd greatly appreciate some help.
I currently already have a new case, maximum card size is 440mm and it's equipped with 4 - 5 fans so I'm OK with that it's a lancool k62, I also have a new 750W PSU so I don't think I'll need a new one.
If there's anything you need to know about my system then ask in the thread or PM me.

I'm not sure if that's the right PSU but I'll update if I can confirm it.

Also, Is it worth keeping my 9800GTX+ to dedicate to PhysX on a new motherboard?
Holy shit i have the exact same build as you atm.
I cant give you much advice other than try to get your stuff from scan they are pretty cheap.

Btw, thats a lot to spend on 850w psu, even if it is modular.
It's not the 850W one I posted the wrong one, it's 750W. I didn't get it from Overclockers so it cost me less.

This looks like it would be just as good but around £30 cheaper.
I think you read the OP wrong, I said I've already got the 750W PSU, I don't think I'll need a new one.
The K62 is a pretty good case, and it would be helpful if you could provide the brand (or preferably a link to a page with the exact model) of the PSU.
And it can't hurt to have a dedicated PhysX card.
Are you able to reuse your operating system or would you like to purchase Windows 7 with the new build? And what's your current HDD?
It's a Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 750W PSU, I'll try and get you a good link.
I would like Windows 7, but purchasing the hardware is top priority, if the build is too much to get W7 too then I'll stick to Vista.

In fact scratch that, I need to upgrade to a 64-bit OS anyway so it may as well be W7.

Ok, here is a good listing of the PSU's specs: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Power+Supplies/Modular+700-950W/750W+Be+Quiet!+Dark+Power+Pro+P9+Modular+ATX2.3+Power+Supply+?productId=43585
Argh I hate how everything is more expensive outside of the US, a $1000 build (without combos) is over $1100 even without the case and PSU...

It says the HDD is out of stock, but that they'll be getting more today. Sorry for going a little over this is the best I could do.

(I don't think you'll be able to use your 9800 with this. You'll be able to upgrade to dual 6950s when they start to get dated or you get more money.)
Would something like this suit you? https://secure.scan.co.uk/aspnet/Shop/SavedBasket/Show.aspx?id=882438ca270045c4b8b1ccbf4a09823e
£578.75 delivered, and you get yourself a very capable Sandy Bridge build. the GTX560 is a decent card but if you really hunted around I'm sure you could find a better card being discounted.
Think it's really necessary to get a new optical drive?
[editline]22nd May 2011[/editline]
doesn't matter it's like £15
[editline]22nd May 2011[/editline]
Worth bumping that up to 6GB of RAM?

If you already have an optical drive you don't need a new one
Don't get 6GB of RAM, Sandy Bridge is dual channel which means you want 1/2/4/8 GB
Ah okay, thanks.
