I tried playing battlefield 1 on my pc but it doesnt run so well.
The game randomly freezes for 1 - 3 secs then it continues. The game runs fine when it doesnt freeze.
This happens on every resoultion, even on low and ultra. I have the latest drivers, so i dont really understand what the deal is
I can play 99% of other games on ultra/high

I tried running the game on my ssd and on my hdds. Didnt make a difference

I think you have an issue where your card's fans aren't running as fast as they can and it underclocks itself to compensate for the added heat.
Do you have a monitoring software like MSI Afterburner where you can watch your card's temp, fan speed, and core clock?
I have an R9 290 and I had to override a few things with Afterburner because the drivers were throttling my card by default for some reason.
Ok i turned off a program called "Curse", because that program has its own overlay thing and its kinda shit
Then i ran a program called NZXT Cam, its like a monitoring program that shows ingame "stats" of your pc
I also made my own fan curve in it (w/o OC)
These are the results. No freezing at all. I was running it @ 1080p ultra

So I guessed right then. AMD strikes again :v:
My friend has this problem on a less powerful rig. I think its a Windows 7 or AMD issue maybe both.

Say what settings were messing up the card on Afterburner? Just to be sure I'm not getting underclocked or something
I have this problem with a GTX670.

For some reason my R9 290 was being underclocked by ~50% core clock and AMD's drivers have a power saving feature that will vary your clock speeds depending on whether you have 60FPS or not, which can cause stuttering if it reads incorrectly and doesn't adjust (Which isn't too frequently I find)
It will also for some reason throttle my cards fans to max 30% speed even if I define 100% max for some unown reason, my card is second hand so that might play a part.
In Afterburner, I defined a custom fan speed and set it to a constant default clock of 945MHz.

I'm trying to use this CAM program but it's stuck on this screen.
Any ideas?
This has nothing to do with getting cam program help. Try making your own thread instead of hijacking this one that's been solved.
I also have no idea what program that is.
Update: I managed to fix my issues by upgrading to Windows 10. Perhaps it could work for you guys too.
IT must be connected with game engine.

SLI microstutter
Take one card out, SLI and crossfire are garbage.

Or you can just simply disable SLI in nvidia control panel instead, and see if it does indeed go away.
Also, saying SLI/XFIRE is garbage is not a good generalization. Both AMD and NVIDIA has improved their multi-GPU technologies significantly over the past few years on new game and devices.

It's still pretty trash for the most part though.
