Here's the tune from the second level.
Faster restarts, I like that.
The guy playing is fucking god awful at the game. I hate when people try to present themselves playing a game and then to terribly because I spend the whole video being like NO NO DONT DO THAT DO THIS INSTEAD AHH WHY WHY WHY
this game's plot looks way nastier than the first one's
I can't remember a time where I was this hyped for a game.
And I just started playing Hotline Miami 1 this weekend.
I love how uncomfortable the game makes you feel -- I was on the edge of my seat when the rape scene started, then it turned out to be a film shoot.
That gang of four masked guys just feel way more fucked up in the head than the ones in the first game. Since they are copy cats.

How many people do you think exists that would qualify as "good at this game".
Man, that music that plays at the end of each level, way more disturbing and effective than the last.
Since pretty much every element of the first game is being retained (excluding the plot) there's no reason why this game should suck.
Looking forward to it.
please please please have a level editor
Anyone got links to all the music?
My friend got to play this, I couldn't go because I already had plans. He said it was great but it crashed, looks like they still have some work to do.

A crash doesn't necessarily mean the game is hugely unstable though. Doesn't mean there's a lot of work left.
is it still gamemaker
is it still gamemaker
I don't think so.
For those who are wondering, there will be a map editor.

Yes.
Damn that poor guy at the end
yes
Things I noticed:
-The group that appears in part 2 appear to be a group trying to copy Jacket's rampage, yet are seemingly not involved with "50 Promises".
-The tiger mask "Tony" makes a reappearance, although it is horrifically damaged and bloody. It appears the copycat killer group managed to get their hands on this item. The other new masks, such as the Bear and the Zebra, indicate that they were unable to obtain any more of Jacket's masks and were forced to purchase new ones.
-Each mask represents a different protagonist. In the first game, the masks were worn by Jacket who used them to exhibit multiple personalities, but were also worn by other members of "50 Promises" seem dead in the custody of the Mafia.
-Plot and dialogue seem more important.
I'm not sure how the tutorial movie set will factor in. Are the protagonists actually murderers, or are they simply characters performing on a fake set? If they aren't affiliated with the movie, it will be interesting to see how it factors into the plot.
you play as the fans, rather than collecting masks, you have 4 characters with much more noticeable differences between them
I heard that along the way, you'll pick up additional fans with their own unique differences in gameplay.

According to the devs, the guys in masks are a faction known as "The Fans." They're Jacket wannabes who aren't associated with 50 Blessings but are copycats who want in on the action despite Jacket already having completed the goal of 50 Blessings, so they just commit murder to try to get attention of whoever it was who contacted Jacket. (50 Blessings, but they don't know that).
Plot is more important.
And the actor is just one character, from what we know the Fans are not actors or in the movie. The dev implied that the actor will sort of have his own story where he'll have trouble knowing what's real or not, or something along those lines.
One thing I'd really like cleared up is [sp] the real ending. We all know Jacket, following the incorrect information he stole from the police, viewed the Russian mafia as the manipulators, leading him to kill their leaders.
Helmet, managed to track down and locate the real masterminds: the two janitors. The janitors used Jacket as a method of eliminating the Russian Mafia, seemingly in the attempt to sabotage US and Soviet Union relations.
What is left unclear is the showdown between Jacket and Helmet in chapter 7. It is unclear who truly won the duel.
-It is entirely possible that Helmet critically wounded Jacket and hospitalized him, and that the first half of the game before his escape from the hospital is simply him dreaming in his coma and incorrectly recalling the several events that led to his hospitalization. This is further supported by the fact that Jacket does not meet with the three masked figures after his hospitalization, who are seemingly Jacket's different personalities manifesting as people in his memories. Jacket also stops seeing hallucinations after he wakes up from his coma.
After his release, Jacket went on to attack the Russian Mafia, believing them to be the organization behind the phonecalls and the death of his girlfriend. Around the same time, Helmet located the real people behind the phonecalls and possibly killed them.
-Alternatively there could be a split timeline from the showdown: one where Jacket kills Helmet and proceeds to destroy the Mafia, and one where Helmet kills Jacket and confronts the leaders of "50 Promises".
Helmet is a much more reliable source than Jacket as he appears to be sane and doesn't suffer from hallucinations. Therefore, we can either conclude that Helmet won the fight or that there is a split timeline.[/sp]
[editline]23rd June 2013[/editline]
[sp]However, the alternate timeline has a bit more evidence. The police state that Jacket was shot and that Richter, the assassin, is in custody. In defense of the other theory, the nurse states that he went through surgery and it appears Jacket has some pretty severe head-trauma during his escape. While it could be the effects of the coma, Jacket was shot in the chest by Richter but has bandages all over his head. It would make sense if Helmet hospitalized him, as Helmet seemingly killed Jacket with a stomp to the head during his events.
If an alternate timeline is used, it can be assumed Jacket's timeline is canonical and that Helmet is actually deceased. If there is indeed one severely confusing timeline, then it can be assumed both Jacket and Helmet are alive.[/sp]
[sp]I'm pretty sure it's implied that Jacket barely makes it home the day that Richter shoots him, the cops make it clear that he was shot by him, but he also clearly suffered brain damage. Helmet's sanity is also in question, so his POV of the fight is far more brutal than the state he left Jacket in, as Jacket was in well enough condition to leave the phone company.[/sp]
[sp]So you think it's possible Jacket lost against Helmet but still managed to survive and return home? It would make sense, considering Jacket only starts to see hallucinations after his fight with Helmet.
Richter was sent to kill Jacket either because he witnessed the information Helmet stumbled upon or because he failed to kill Helmet. Either reason makes sense. [/sp]
Jesus that guy at the end...
That was fucked.

Everything past the phone company fight for Jacket is [sp] in his mind, since Biker put him in a coma. That is until he comes out of the coma. I believe that the police station attack and going after the mob boss are all just a revenge fantasy made from a situation that doesn't make any sense for Jacket. [/sp]
I recall that Biker's [sp] ending is the true ending, that goes double once you find the secret code. [/sp]
I might be wrong though, but that's my understanding.
