Hey there, for a few days I've been having problems with my connection randomly disconnecting at times.
Let me premise that I always had a very spotty connection and this wouldn't be anything new, however the problem I'm currently having is different than what I'm used to deal with and it coincided with me formatting my pc so I'm wondering if something messed up when installing the drivers or something (which I already reinstalled, by the way).
Here's some things I've observed:
-It happens at random so it's entirely possible to have it never happen for hours, but it might happen a dozen times in a row later. Trying to open pages with chrome gives me random errors such as ERR_CONNECTION_RESET, DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET, DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG. It goes away after a few minutes.
-Other computers connected are affected, so either the problem is not on my end or my computer is somehow disrupting the connection/wireless for everyone. It's hard to check whether it's my computer causing it as sometimes the problem doesn't show up for hours, and I kinda have to use it for work. If all else fails I'll try to figure something out.
-All the lights on the router are still on (unlike what I'm usually dealing with), windows says I'm still connected to the wireless network, however I'm unable to access the router with a browser while this is happening. SOMETIMES the router will disconnect after a few minutes, but rarely
-Using another connection (like using my phone as a router) everything works fine
I have already contacted my ISP but they're rarely helpful and I'm trying to make sure the problem isn't actually on my end
what provider do you have?
