How come there is such a tiny difference between triple channel and dual channel RAM? Sometimes dual channel is even better than triple channel.
According to these benches, I'm begging to regret I spent money on triple channel.
What is up with this?
It seems everyone is as clueless as I am, or is there any savvy dude out there?
Depends on the CPU aswell, for that has to support triple channel and different processors will support it better.
DDR3 brought faster speeds with it and more capacity, so obviously if you need a lot of RAM triple channel is the way to go.
You might have a better chance asking in the Hardware & Software forum. The people there tend to know more about stuff like this.
DDR3 in triple chanell has a fuckton more bandwidth, but it goes to waste since nothing can use it all

So I can safely assume that my investment wasn't in vain?
It depends on the memory, DDR3 is still fresh technology so latencies, bandwidth, etc will improve throughout the time
Some motherboars don't support triple-channle either, and will only use dual channel, the same goes for the CPU.
And like others said, DDR3 has really high latencies right now, so speed is almost counteracted by the latency, unless you buy really high end models.
In some cases, DDR2 is better than DDR3, but in time, when DDR3's CAS latency goes down, we'll see some nice speed :)
