The way the second half of the article is written is weird.
Hopefully more optimized than World of Tanks.
Seriously that game got progressively worse in the optimization department.
2 years ago I could play it nice, now, with a better PC, it plays like shit even on low.

WoT is just shit compared to what this game will be with tanks.
Just the fact that you don,t have to wait for the match to end to continue playing because your tank blew up and the fact that you don,t have to grind an insane amount of time to get 1 new tank makes WT way superior.
Well shit, I'll be gone by the time this rolls out. At least I can say I'll be a soldier in more than just a video game, though. Whether or not that's a good thing is debatable.
Still saddens me that I won't be around for this.

There are, for now not really explained rumors (partially based on screenshots of new tech tree view as well as some hints by actual devs) that War Thunder will quite possibly adapt a similar "tree" system where you have to grind everything separately to get to the thing below that, just like in World of Tanks. Again, nothing known for certain yet, but one dev did a very daunting "Buy all the planes you have currently available post" and explained it with "progression tree changes". So we will have to see.
All will fall before the might of the Tiger-II!
Sherman tankcrews will scream, as i crush them to death under my mighty treads!
T-34's will fall by the dozen, to my superior firepower!

Aaauuugh finally.
There is one thing WT definitely has over WoT, and that is that it looks so much better
I kind of became angry with this challenge business after the second one (destroy 35 planes in one or multiple of a specific plane) because the gameplay became shit and it was thoroughly biased towards a few factions. Will just wait for open beta here, hopefully it'll be out around Christmas or so.

and the fact that wt had multi core support whereas wot only runs on a single core.
Yeah War-Thunder is like one of the most well-optimized games ever so everyone's fine. Even the movie settings that it always warns NEED VERY POWERFUL COMPUTER are completely playable on most PCs.
Any word on whether the combined tanks and planes game-mode will be in the beta?

The first actual footage they showed of the game at an expo was from a combined ops scenario so I'd say the chances are pretty good.
also the fact that this (hopefully) wont have fucking gods finger SPGs.
I just hope that it'll be possible to camouflage your tank from planes by hiding in treelines and such instead of you just showing up as a red icon on the screens of planes, but I think the devs are smart enough to do something like that

there was a translated post somewhere saying that the planes had to manually spot the tanks first before they were lit up, similar to how it works air v air currently.

currently planes cannot at any point "spot" a tank (cause a name tag to appear) on their own, so you have to physically look around for them through signs of battle and ether seeing the tank in the open or looking for it's muzzle flash. they did however say that if a Light Tank spots an enemy tank THEN planes nearby get a name tag to go after. However the wording they used to describe that last bit makes it seem like it's still up in the air.
basically everything LOOKS ok but we're still all in wait and see mode for most of these things.

Danger-close Catalina raids are gonna be a thing of the past, thank god.
Well, either that or they'll just carpet bomb all the forests from 500 feet.
Yeah fuck you Gaijin, I'm not jumping through your hoops to get in. 15 days of wonderfully boring challenges aren't worth it, no matter how much I like tanks.
