Okay so I'm eligible for an upgrade on my Verizon plan. I've been looking at two phones and was hoping to hear some input on this topic.
I have the original Droid 1 right now, and I still love the phone. The slide out keyboard is one of the biggest upsides so the the Droid 3 is a definite possibility. But what's holding me back from the Droid 3 is the new ROM Motorola put on it. I strongly dislike the MotoBLUR that comes installed on it.
So that's where the Droid Bionic comes in. I'm really interested in this phone as well. Mainly because it has a rumor to have an unlocked boot loader. The virtual keyboard I could see myself getting used to maybe. And the huge screen is a plus too.
Another weighing factor I have in my head is a physical camera button. When I saw that the Droid 3 doesn't have a button dedicated for the camera I was a bit turned off. I'm hoping the Droid Bionic will have one.
As for the 3g/4g aspect. I'm perfectly fine with 3g. In fact, part of me still wants only 3g because rumor has it that 4g kills battery and won't be optimized til 2013 anyway.
Although contradicting to the last statement, the potentially bad battery life of the Droid 3 doesn't bother me either. I've been used to my Droid 1 battery sucking so I always have some sort of charger around me.
Finally, I've also heard that the Droid 3's screen isn't the best. The qHD display they have put in it is ultimately a turn off. Another reason why the Bionic could be better.
So as you can see, I'm really flipping and flopping back and forth between each phone. I thought I'd wait til August for when the Bionic got released, but now that it's been pushed back to September I'm becoming impatient. So I wanted to see what people had to say about this. Any thoughts or comments to sway my opinion would be greatly appreciated. I'm not against looking at any other phones out there as well. I've been so focused on these two I've sort of tuned out any others.
Thanks!

I would stray away from buying the bionic on it's release date. And same for the droid 3. It's new, it usually will suck.
My friend has it, and it random reboots, screen will stay locked, get's hot. It has one plus, it's on gingerbread.
I have the droid x2 and I have zero complaints.
