A good article that touches on the launch as much as it needs to and gets into some solid experience with the game as a whole.
Nice to see for once in the last few days.

If you're restricted from playing the game it's not a very well designed game then is it.
Be honest.
I'm just gonna play SimCity Classic.
Still working after all these years.
If people payed $60 for a game and it doesn't work then why should they say it's a good game?
Can we stop making excuses and giving devs a free ride please. This kind of shit needs to stop.
It's not that we're making excuses. Rather the opposite - we all know that the DRM is fucked, and we don't need 10 articles a day talking about it. It seems the actual game has barely been discussed in comparison.

The game itself is designed well. The DRM is preventing us from accessing the game though. I've only been able to play for like 3 hours in the past 4 days. Not have to fight with servers because they STILL haven't fixed the servers, or just remove the always online component entirely and let us play offline.

That's because nobody's been playing it.

Then you've contradicted yourself in saying this, it doesn't matter if a game is well designed if you can't play it half the time. Diablo 3 might've been a good game when it launched but you couldn't play it - so it was a poorly designed game, granted they fixed it but it's exactly the same issue here.
Funny how people still eat this shit up though.
call me when its compatible with the sims 3

Um, broken DRM doesn't affect the game mechanics

they removed cheetah speed because of server strain. They will add it back later(tm), if(c) they can get the servers stabilized*

Let's take the DRM out of the equation for a second.
Say you have a game, you want to play said game but because, lets say, the game is completely broken and unplayable due to bugs, glitches or whatever - the game is sub-sequentially a poorly designed game. The game mechanics might be perfectly fine, when they work - and in this instance they don't so it's a poorly designed game.

If you take DRM out of the equation when talking about Sim City 5 you eliminate virtually every problem with the game in one fell swoop.

i see what you're getting at, but fuck, the game's great despite all of the crummy DRM.
