Last I checked, even with the increased chance to get Uniques, I rarely get anything worth while. But that's not bad. Gives you reason to keep playing. If you were able to make a character and level it to 70 and almost instantly have it geared, then what would be the point?

I knew Diablo was heavy on the grind, but is it actually just a skinner box with some fluff dressing?
They were right about chests being unrewarding though, sometimes I'd open a chest in a room with 3 others and only money would drop out.

I found 3 legendaries in one rift tonight while going through it with some friends. It's working.

They nerfed special unique monsters that either come up in the campaign at specific points for boss battles or random unique monsters that drop special legendary materials (not related to the legendary drop rate) that may have been too easy to reliably farm. As an example, one such monster, Manglemaw, took me 15 seconds to farm and could drop legendary items. I could reliably run him 240 times in an hour and walk away up to my ears in legendaries.
They also removed all loot from Act 3 demonic vessel chests, they now drop no loot at all (at least in Adventure mode at level 70), even outside of Core of Arreat, which is where players were farming them.
They did a shit job of it too because even in rifts they don't drop anything. Unless this is a bug, they must have been really pissed about that farming spot to do something that drastic, no other chests do this.
In any case I think it's pretty petty that they keep stealth nerfing and 'hotfixing' whenever people find a way to grind less. There's literally no economy anymore with the draconian trading rules, so there's really no other reason to be such control freaks about how fast people find loot unless your primary goal is to keep players locked in as long as possible, likely in order to have big inflated player numbers to show to investors and shareholders.

They nerfed UNIQUE monsters such as the one that appears during campaing, but buffed bonus legendaries during Rifts, which is what you should run to get legendaries.

I don't think that they touched the loot inside chests, just lowered the amount of chests
