I would believe that, but if bethesda and valve are making 75% of the money from a mod sale, and they're claiming that they're making next to nothing off it, then that just brings into focus the absolute pittance the mod creator will be getting per sale, so their words burn as they say them
Just because you haven't made any money off of a terrible 'service' that opened up only a few days ago and is being universally boycotted, doesn't mean that it's not a money making scheme.
And fuck that whole thing about wanting modders to make money off their work. I remember someone made a kickstarter to pool up money for a large quest mod and it immediately got shutdown by Beth, probably on the basis that they weren't going to be making any money off of it. Not to mention that Valve has been taking paypal donation links off of workshop pages because none of that donation money is going to them, yeah no schemes here guys.
If you really want modders to get money for their work then you would have given them at least a majority share.
If it's not a money making scheme, then why the fuck are you taking 45% on something that you already made your money on when people bought the fucking game?
Strange that at the same time the removal of the payment option from the Skyrim workshop is announced, they don't mention it in this blog: http://steamcommunity.com/games/SteamWorkshop/announcements/detail/208632365253244218

God I keep having to say to people that the 25% rev share deal is very good from a business perspective and way above what people normally get for selling a derivative product.
its not even that modders are only making 25% but from what ive been told, they dont see a cent of it until their mod makes $100

That's a dumb argument, that's just justifying the "Pay for our mistakes" mentality. Which is incredibly stupid in it's own right.

They removed paid modding now, also, it was $400

No it isn't. The guy who made that armor set in the picture up there would be getting a much better cut selling it just about anywhere else. Or that's my experience anyhow.
Its all a moot point now, but this could have rocked if Valve had actually been reasonable about this from the outset. Also, I'd hate for this whole debacle to create some kind of stigma against modding in general.
