I recently found someone to purchase my 260gtx and am now looking to upgrade, I have been thinking about getting a 470gtx, I don't have the ability to sli or i would go with the 460gtx. 350 is the tip of my budget as I will be going to college soon so need to save up some money before then. Whats your opinions? What is a good brand to buy from? I have been thinking EVGA.
I can recommend a Radeon 5850
If you have a low resolution, go for GTX460. If not, go for the 5850 or GTX470.

So having a resolution at 1440x900 means it would be a waste to get a 470?
a 260 should be playing at that res fine, why do you need to upgrade

Getting a new monitor in the future and might as well get it now then later when I don't have the money, I also play games like ARMA 2 and it likes to hiccup a lot and tends to dip below 20 fps. So I see it as a why not.
what's the rest of your specs

Yeah, get the GTX 470 or 5850.
I would recommend the GTX470 over the 5850, mainly because of its dedicated PhysX, CUDA, dedicated tessellation cores, and can outperform the 5850.
