Well i have a relatively new Pavilion DV6. This morning, after the battery being fine the night before, the laptop wouldnt turn on, it had a flashing light next to the power input, this mean it needs to be plugged in. When i got into windows it said on the battery symbol that i should consider replacing the battery, and HW monitor said that it had 67% battery wear. This being a new laptop i was like WHAT THE FUCK. Anyways i had to take it in for my IT lesson at school, while there i had it plugged in, during that lesson it charged to 100%. all the way up it had the "you should consider replacing your battery". I unplugged when i got 100% and it didnt turn off. The battery symbol had a red cross over the battery, then it went after about 10 seconds and said i had 100% remaining. i checked HW monitor and it said my battery level was at 279% charge, but the wear level was still at 67%. i left it on standby for the rest of the day. 9 hours later when i got home i woke up my laptop again. Without plugging in it still had 90% remaing. Ive been using it for facebook for the past 30 mins and the level is on 86%. and it estimates about 4 hours until the battery is dead. Could this be a faulty battery or just windows not displaying correctly
