heres the catch
So crates are still going to be around, and purchasing them with in-game currency (or real money) will still award some weapons, Star Cards, and crafting materials which can be used to upgrade Star Cards.
itll probably be a huge grind to get the materials until you pay this is EA were talking about, theyre arent the nice guys here, the lootboxes should just be removed or just contain cosmetics

The Imperials and the First Order are very limited in their color palettes, even if you include Legends material. And there's nothing even in the Clone Wars era that rivals all of the crazy skins in games like Overwatch and League of Legends. Unfortunately, crazy skins are where the money is at, not minor changes in the shape or markings on stormtrooper armor.

Clones especially, but even Stormtroopers and First Order has some options [img_thumb]https://www.costumecraze.com/images/stormtroopers-clone-troopers-star-wars-4.png[/img_thumb] And Clones/Rebels have infinite options really, as well. You can do pretty much anything with the Clones era stuff. Now would a Shoretrooper fit in some maps? No. But they also have Rey and Wookies fighting in Theed so it's obvious they're choosing fun over strictly staying canon Why not voice lines instead of emotes, why not Generic Jedi models with custom force crystals to change the colors of the lightsaber? What about sound effects for your weapons, not every weapon used the exact same sound effect all the time. It doesn't have to just be skins. I'd love to have a Sunrider crystal for my lightsaber with my Generic Jedi model #21 All a moot point for me since I'm not getting the game. Saw my share of cheaters during beta, and the cheaters have run everyone out of the PC version with the first game, too. Not wasting money for an unfun experience

There's not an excuse as to why 'authenticity' is important when you have Kylo ren fighting someone from the prequels Also why aren't there vehicle skins?
how much you wanna bet it was always gonna work this way on release but EA just purposely made it shitty for beta to make it look like they did something good for positive pr
how much you wanna bet it was always gonna work this way on release but EA just purposely made it shitty for beta to make it look like they did something good for positive pr
Blasting your own foot off with a shotgun, just to give an excuse for you to show off your ability to treat gunshot wounds, is far from an ideal strategy. Of course, no one ever accused large corporations of being intelligent. After all, we live in a world where giants like Bank of America can sue themselves. So anything's possible.

It's harder to regain public image than it is to lose it. If they went this route not even deleting lootboxes altogether would have turned the negative beta feedback into a net positive
