Rust is cancelled.
I don't get why they don't just show his comment instead of having an entire article that's just filler.

I really don't think Garrysmod needs a sequel. I just don't think a sequel could capture the original Gmod, it'll still be same Gmod, just on a different engine. [editline]9th September 2015[/editline] And you get VR support while you play TTT or DarkRP.

Garry will pass it on for his prodigy son to develop. Alex's Mod
I think that's the idea Garry knows if they update gmod to Source 2, it'll break everything even harder than the Orangebox update did Better to keep both versions around as to not completely alienate the older users

Wait, when the fuck was this a thing?!
Huh, makes me wonder how we'll mount games, especially on a new engine. Perhaps we'll have some content from Source 2 to put on there.

I just want garry's mod with bigger maps is that so much to ask
I just want garry's mod with bigger maps is that so much to ask
Assuming Source 2 has bigger map support, it would. Technically, bigger maps are an issue with Source itself, not just GMod. The absolute maximum is 32768^3 units for Source. And due to Source being a viewportal-based engine, building portals for such a massive map is painful and time consuming. Not to mention performance issues due to poor portal building on a massive map... Oh and let's not get started with Hammer. God I hated Hammer so much. And to think, at one point I made a map that was so popular that someone ripped it and made it a zombie survival map...
i mean im still probably gonna call it gmod 2
Please call it JBmod 2.0
Wait, when the fuck was this a thing?!
Garry made a thread asking about stuff for Gmod2. https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1474548
Huh, makes me wonder how we'll mount games, especially on a new engine.

This is the part that most likely won't be making into GMod 2. First of all, Valve hates GMod being able to mount other games. Secondly, what games can we possibly mount since we are moving to a different engine, that potentially doesn't even have any games on it yet? I know that being able to play Half-Life 2 in GMod is like the best part about it for me. I am sure there will be people who are willing to port the maps and models and what not from GMod 1/Source 1 to GMod 2, just like people are converting csgo models and maps to GMod.
Chances are Gmod2 will come with basic stuff included and then rely on addons by the community for more content that they might also add into the stock game if it's popular enough ala PHX, instead of the whole mounting games deal.
I can't wait for working welds so you don't have prop tornados all over the map
There is a gmod2?
Oh boy can't wait to waste another 1.5k hours of my life again
Wait, is the next gmod game running on Source 2 confirmed??
There is a gmod2?
ummm... We're like at gmod 14 already.
Oh boy can't wait to waste another 1.5k hours of my life again
I have nearly 7000 hours wasted of my life on Garry's Mod, Can't wait to waste another.
I can't wait for working welds so you don't have prop tornados all over the map
Yeah, I never understood why welds are so... flimsy, and parenting is all this special voodoo shit. What's so hard for the game to interpret in "Prop A, maintain position relative to Prop B"?
Wait, is the next gmod game running on Source 2 confirmed??
I would think so. Also hope that current Source Engine stuff will be compatible with GMod 2.
