I've been looking for a good set for a while and this looked like a decent one:

Problem is the site I was looking for said 125 euros, other sites say 750. And I am not planning to spend 750 euro on a set.
Does anyone know a decent 5.1 surround set for a maximum of 150 euro?
Are you actually going to setup the surround properly, as many people buy them then just have them sitting in a 2.1 setup on their desk infront of them.
Logitech X-530 or Logitech X-540. I have 530 and i love it (if you set it up right as i have)
^Agree I have the x530 and it sounds brilliant with my sound blaster audigy sound card, not as good as the bose 2.1 I have downstairs, but still pretty good quality for the price.

bose, take a trip to the headphones thread
Already have a great 7.1 headphone, and no I wont put them in front me.
3 in front of me and 2 behind and one bass below.
Ill take a look at those sets
Edit: I looked Logitech X-530 and I couldn't see if I would be able to hang them on my wall, is that possible?

Yeah, it is. You can rotate the feet around.

i don't mean to boast but i get called a wall hacker with 2 channel 100 dollar headphones
150€ is not much, you should really save up and buy the Logitech Z5500, I've got them and their awesome. Fully worth the price if you ask me.

I got the money but I am kinda a Mcscrooge, So I was/am looking for the most decent quality for the least amount of money. It does look drop dead gorgeous though, maybe I can look around for an owned one.
If anyone got any other suggestions of what I could buy, by all means suggest it.
I got the Logitech X-530 5.1 set on eBay refurbished for $50, yes, 50 bucks! It was a great deal.
Another vote for the Logitech X-540's, I've had them for about a year and I love them, they sound amazing for the price

One more vote.
They distort over 80% volume but if you even have to get that far, i feel sorry for everyone in the immediate area...

One vote for saving for z-5500's.
X-540 sounded like shit when I had them, so I bought z-5500's. Really, it isn't that much more for them, plus they are like 10 times the quality.
Z-5500.
I got my X-530's from a surplus store in Canada for $50. They've worked great so far (going on 2 years). Nice sound, fairly compact, and they look pretty cool.
for that price a 2.0 set will beat any 5.1 set you can find for any price.

I've never taken mine past 50% :P It's simply too loud for my tastes

They didn't distort for me at 80%+.

1 vote more. Gotta love the matrix function, it's so awesome for listening to music.
Z-5500. Previous owner of x-530.
I use the x-530 for my laptop when I dock it.
Putting the z-5500 on 40-55% (depends on your sound hardware, soundcard etc.) volume will be louder than maxed volume on x530, except no lack in the quality of sound.
Z-5500 can use analog input, optical input (yes, optical is sexy) and COAX. Coax and optical beats analog, and the best of them is optical, as light doesn't loose quality. Needs a soundcard to use optical though, like the asus dx2 pci-e x1.
I don't regret using all my savings for the z5500 2 years ago. Be careful around used ones, they are moat likely damaged.

*sigh*
sorry to bump but how do the Logitech X-540, Creative Inspire T6200 and Sony SRS D511 all compare? being in the same priceclass and all.
Also NO I'm not getting a z-5500, it's three times the price of the 540 with what seems like negligible improvements. (beyond a certain points it doesn't matter how many watts your speakers puts out, it's just gonna rupture your eardrums either way.)

It's a dome that fits over his head.
bump because I want an answer to my above post.

Would you say the Z5500 is worth paying another $200 over another G51 set?
