Oh what delicious irony.
Can't someone just download the Reddit source code and just host their own reddit?

She's still a bad person though
kinda like voat?
Kinda thought that Voat was a whole different project entirely [editline]15th July 2015[/editline] I'm now tempted to host my own Reddit because it does seem pretty easy

Why host your own, anyway? We don't need two dozen "Reddit but with free speech" sites, Voat is quite enough (and has the least low chance of success).
It's not that I'd actually want to run my own Reddit, it's more that I want to simply set one up and then nuke it quickly as possible so my provider doesn't charge me for an extra hour of usage
Good, there's no reason to keep that part around, especially not when there are alternatives for anyone against the change.
Someone buy redditv2.com and prepare for a lawsuit. :q:
Redditpunch
Punchit.
Hah! Ellen Pao was the hero reddit wanted, but not the one it deserved. Gj forcing her to quit you short sighted, self righteous, entitled, whiny fools. You really did it this time.
Hah! Ellen Pao was the hero reddit wanted, but not the one it deserved. Gj forcing her to quit you short sighted, self righteous, entitled, whiny fools. You really did it this time.
Ha, I lost count how many times threads about her and her husband's lawsuits got to the front page of r/all and suddently disappeared without a trace, and the users responsible shadowbanned. I'm sure she had nothing to do with that and she's actually an heroic free speech advocate who had to take the fall The fact the new CEO is as awful as the previous doesn't make Pao any less awful Either way actions speak louder than words, we'll see how it goes
"As new CEO, I will be doing everything that you claimed the old CEO did that was bad." No wonder kn0thing liked him so much. This is just silly. How the heck are we supposed to know who is actually responsible for any of this. P.S they said it "wasn't a bastion of free speech" when literally quoted from 3 years ago saying "It's a bastion of free speech."
oh no my subreddits making fun of people who are different
oh no my subreddits making fun of people who are different
It's not about that, it's about picking and choosing which subreddits stay and which ones don't, despite both equally breaking the same amount of rules, and in many cases, way worse then the other in terms of harassment. Case in point
It's not about that it's about
fatpeoplehate, wifebeating, jailbait, creepshots, thefappening...
fatpeoplehate, wifebeating, jailbait, creepshots, thefappening...
Can't tell if willfully ignorant or you genuinely have no idea what happened Fatpoplehate and the like did not get banned for "offensive or obscene material", they got banned for "targeting individuals", something that SRS does on a regular basis. The entire fucking sub is about mocking other redditors and brigading but apparently they get a free pass because reasons. At least that's the official answer, cause admins won't actually give details for the reason of the ban and Pao's infamous "we're banning behaviours, not ideas" translated into a blanket ban of every subreddit about fat people to the point they even mistakenly banned an actual whale watching subreddit. So yes, I don't give a shit if reddit doesn't want subreddits about mocking fat people it's their own fucking website, but I care if they make up rules and then decide to only enforce them whenever they feel like it.
