My little cousins (6-8 years old) need a computer. They won't really do much but play flash games, and the 6 years olds (twins) will probably break it at one point. So I need this almost as cheap as possible. I need monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse aswell.
Thanks.
Oh and use Newegg Canada or Ncix.

Can a mod fix the title please?
Get 'em a netbook.
Netbook.

or do you want a desktop?
I think buying a netbook would be really dumb. You'd probably have to buy another in a few weeks because the kids broke it.

Tell them it will break if they drop it, hit it, or something of the sort.

What's dumber is having a more expensive desktop get broken.

You really think a 6-year old would care?
Well, it depends on the kids.
If they're smart/calm kids, a netbook would be the perfect choice.
If they're not, maybe a desktop would be harder to break.
Consider an Eee Box but put a SSD in it.
The kids'll probably drop a netbook and break the screen.

this
with like a 15" screen or something, small and cheap
If they break something you give to them, use the thing that they broke to bludgeon them into unconsciousness.
That'll teach em'.
Eee boxes will break. If they can throw it, they can break it. They broke my PS2 by putting soap in it :\.

Nevermind, I don't need a monitor anymore. I found a nice heavy CRT for them in my storage room.
Oh and, the only eeebox has cheap enough in Canada seems to have linux. Which will probably be a no no.
Why?
That's even better than Windows since it's harder to get viruses and shit on.
I think it's the fact that 6 year olds will be using the computer and not computer geeks
for playing flash games and general interwebs linux would be fine

Ad-Block will get rid of most of these. They probably are not good enough with computers enough to download and use msn.
Oh and I tried to make something:

Adblock won't do shit against viruses.
Linux mint is perhaps even easier than windows, they won't have to use the terminal. Ever.
Still can't use the eeebox though due to throwing.
nail it down
or just get a really old used PC or something, they won't care

I don't have one and they live in another city. I'm going to build it here and the guy drives over and picks it up from my house.

Just put a condom over it so the kids don't break it.
Over budget unless linux.
Then go for Linux.
Get an old p4 PC.
off the local adds or something
Leave the OS on or Install linpus

Then it is simple and cheap
Whatever you get, bolt it down heavily. Give them no chance.
Explain to them that if they break it, it's their problem and you won't help them.
They will anyway, thats where the bolting comes in.
Beat the children. Scare them into obedience, it worked for Stalin.
Ebay is your best bet here. Buy some shitty computer and just install ubuntu on it

i'm not going to their house though. They live hours away.

Then get the parents/guardians to bolt it down.
