So I've been getting this message

Is it because they are releasing the UI or something?
I get this too.
Same
Delete clientregistery.blob
Worked for me.
I don't know what actually caused the problem but that should fix it.
Didn't work for me but a guy on the steam forum said that you should delete the clientregistry and then adding -clearbeta to your steam shortcut, removing the steam UI beta and fixing it. Worked for me but now I'm stuck with old steam until this is fixed.
this worked.
Delete your clientregistery.blob.

Doesn't work when you are in the beta.
Thought it was just me.
I'll wait for tomorrow.
I can't live without the new UI :v:
Give it a bit sometimes the updates just drop you when the servers are busy on the beta

It does because i'm on the beta and i did when i got the problem.

I'm in the beta, and it worked for me.
I get this when I remove clientregistry.blob and add -clearbeta:

I had some major problems today as well, but i managed to get it working.
I just started steam with the beta UI, got the problem 10+ times, logged onto my laptop where it went fine for some reason, logged off and started it on my desktop again. The problem was still there, but then I went into task manager and processes, ended steam.exe and started it up, then it decided to update just fine.
None of what I did probably helped, I was probably just lucky to get onto the beta server and get a download spot.
This is why I steer clear of betas. :haw:
I bet most of you have already noticed but the steam UI beta works just fine again. It felt so wrong going back to the old one.
