Hello, This is going to be my first time building a computer, I know how to install most pc parts and im sure I can learn how. Now I only want to spend about 350 bucks on this project and I need a good motherboard with a case that is cheap. Currently I have a very old computer that I really need to get rid of so I just want to build a basic computer.
I want the Mother board to support AMD Processor.
Found a Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147023&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3640869&SID=skim629X1198
Found a Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136314
I Found a Motherboard but I am not sure if it will go with the case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131654&cm_re=motherboard_amd-_-13-131-654-_-Product
Found RAM to go with that motherboard: http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=5688428BA5CA7304
Found a DVD Burn/DVD Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106334
Found a Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103687
Added everything and the total for all of that was: $321.5 Now that is in my price range. But that is alot just for those essentials.
So you're trying to build a whole computer for $350 and you're spending $65 dollars on a case?
You also need a processor, power supply, and probably a GPU if you want to play any games at all.

Nice find! I will get this instead. Still need to know if that motherboard will fit in this case.

Get this case, it should be pretty decent.

0_-, Uhm no. I don't have that much money plus 800 dollars just for a case? I don't think so.
It was a joke -_-
Athlon II x2/4850/2Gb DDR3/500w OCZ.

What is the 4850 for and would that motherboard fit in that case?
Do some research before you attempt to build a computer, here's a good place to start:

I'll try a build.

Do you even have an OS?

Judging by the simplicity of the parts he's choosing I don't think he's going to be doing supreme gaming. So I think some form of Linux would suffice him for this build.

Comes to $378 before rebates and stuff. Should be sufficient for light gaming, word processing, and general business stuff at relatively high resolutions (1600x1200 maybe if you are just doing Counter Strike and that stuff).

Well $350 is about £225 , and I built a computer a while ago for £200 that could game, so it is possible.

Didn't you reuse the CPU and other stuff for that?
Didn't you reuse the CPU and other stuff for that?
Nope this was for a friend of mine last summer
Specs:
AMD Athlon x2 2.7Ghz
2GB DDR2
Foxconn Mobo
ATi 4550
Galaxy Case with 500W PSU
Some Wifi Card
Some DVDRW Drive
320GB Maxtor Hard Drive
Windows XP - Got that from previous PC.
Proof it exists: http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u101/JOVH/IMAGE_00180.jpg?t=1280751715
Oh, I was thinking of your secondary PC, but ok.

It's very possible. I built one a few months ago for $250 using quality parts and even fit a 4670 into it with an Athlon II X2 and 2GBs of DDR2.

There's no dedicated GPU, but the integrated graphics on the motherboard are decent enough to run source games at medium on lower resolutions until you save enough for a GPU.

$350 will make a low-end gaming rig with the potential to be easily upgraded to a mid/high-end one.
