Take-Two's actions were not specifically targeting single player mods. Unfortunately OpenIV enables recent malicious mods that allow harassment of players and interfere with the GTA Online experience for everybody. We are working to figure out how we can continue to support the creative community without negatively impacting our players.
What? They are seriously confusing OpenIV with GTA Online hacks!
i think someone said that OpenIV let people make mods that essentially act as cheats or hacks in MP.
i don't know much about it, so maybe i was misinformed.
OpenIV also has a plugin that stops you from launching GTA online, but I've read you can easily remove that check.
Well shit, they're "working on" a compromise which is better than radio silence.
Rockstar, you just dug your own grave (The entire gtaforums.com community explodes)
Now enjoy your entire angry community for this

Smells like damage control, but this was probably solely Take-Two's decision, so I think Rockstar could very well intend to salvage their reputation. Take-Two probably doesn't give a shit about them in the slightest, only money.

Rockstar had nothing to do with in.

Many point out that the main reason for the Elimination of OpenIV was by Entrie Port of Libery City in gta v (LibertyV or somemthing like that) because OpenIV team was taking part in the development

I don't think cheats need to modifiy the archives, which is pretty much the whole point of OIV.
Pretty sure its just scripts that need to be loaded.

It's not related. Cheats are basically purely scripts which OpenIV has basically nothing to do with.
Their statement makes no logical sense, and I'm not sure if I would blame that on malice or stupidity.
They didn't even block the tool itself, they just sent a C&D to the creators. OpenIV still works, anyone with malicious intent can still cheat and all this move accomplished so far is ruin modding for everyone.
I really hope rockstar can break out of taketwos control at this point

Once they update the encryption the tool will be useless.
If OpenIV is connected to the internet it will refuse to launch now.
