i'd fucking hate that. think how many times you've accidentally pressed the wrong button on your phone. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've turned off my screen while trying to adjust the volume.
Needs a cap of some sort like the trigger button on a flight stick or w/e. That way you wont get as many bad presses.

My old android phone actually had an emergency contact thing where if you held both volume up and volume down buttons for like 5 seconds, it would send a preset text, voice clip, GPS coords, and a short video recording from the camera to designated contacts.
I really liked the idea, and in my whole time using it I never managed to pocket press both those buttons at the same time.
I occasionally do lone-working in the mountains, I could see this being handy on those occasions where I have signal and something happens. (Which hasn't happened yet, but you never know)

if the actual button is the red part, it looks like you need to kind of put your finger nail in there to push it properly. i'd imagine you could fix this also by having to hold it down or press it in succession or something.
The phone we bought for my grandad has a feature like this, there's a big red switch on the back that'll send an SOS message when you flick it
It's a great idea for elderly / accident prone people who live on their own

can actually agree with this, my grandad had one, he was 88 and had parkinsons, saved his life once when he fell and nobody was around to help.
