The TF2 wiki say that the BB comic takes place in 1972, 150 years after the brothers were born.
Any evidence for this? I may have missed the comic issue date or something.
Didn't TF2 originally take place in'68, judging by the calendars?
The way all the characters are staring at the Engie on the website is odd too.

It says in the beginning of the comic that it's set "some time in the future"
Dont know but might this be some kind off TF2 themed Zombie survival game? instead zombies, Robots?

I would actually love this
Well this was really the best moment for my gaming PC to fuck up and die.
God Damnit
Nearly 5 years after release and Valve manages to keep the game still exciting and interesting.
I like how they leaved hints in trailers and such and updated the maps :Y

welcome to game development 101
today's lesson: different games have different teams
I can't really care about TF2 ARGs anymore but killing both Mann brothers was kind of a harsh goddamn move

people always bring this up as an excuse or some justification, but Valve in general has to allocate money somehow, and they seem to be allocating it directly towards TF2, but none towards HL3 or something
Valve do a lot of shit behind closed doors. We've heard all sorts of things about biometric controllers, them going into hardware, tests.
Hell, remember when we found out about that "Creative" session they had? Where all the staff just went off on their own projects for a month? We didn't even find out about that until way after portal 2 had come out.
And bear in mind, they make a fuckton of money from steam, so i'm sure they're well financed for HL3, no matter how much money they throw at TF2 (Which in turn generates money)
And bear in mind that Valve themselves have said they barely do anything for TF2 anymore, all the models and shit are from the community, they just tweak and balance.
That's true, and I honestly want to believe that Valve has got this shit on lock, but its becoming harder as harder as the wait nears 5 years.

I was thinking this whole the ARG was going on.
The L4D infected system in TF2, allowing a swarm of robots chasing players.

by the way valve's machine shop will be named Mullet Lab

They'll probably respawn.
people always bring this up as an excuse or some justification, but Valve in general has to allocate money somehow, and they seem to be allocating it directly towards TF2, but none towards HL3 or something

Yeah I agree with you. A bit more transparency would be nice.
TF2 is their playground which they can fuck up and patch later, Episode 3 is the one thing they absolutely cannot fuck up or the fallout will be above and beyond Duke Nukem levels. If you've ever done a bit of backstory research for Valve's bigger titles like HL2 and TF2, you'll notice they've made like 3 games worth of content and then cut everything but the best bits, which is the source of both their quality standards and their long development cycles. TF2's updates don't have those quality standards, and thus can be released in greater frequency.
The same internet that currently generates hype all on its own for TF2, just because Valve drops liiiittle hints, would eat Valve alive if they constantly revealed stuff about HL2 and after a month always went "yeah no we just cut that, sorry we got you excited for nothing, but we got other plans".
The mann brothers are dead now?
Well shit, why are the mercs even fighting now?
(Though I think something's going to happen to revive them)

I hope they'll explain how players respawn since, being Valve, they'll think about something creepy and clever at the same time.

Oh please, half-life 2 took like what, 7 years?
It's the way valve does things. Completely secretive and slow but sure. Half-life is their masterpiece of a series and they would be damned if everything isn't as perfect as they want.
Beep boop son..
Beep boop.

And why there's exact copies of the same person (clones but why don't the characters care?)

TF2 team has like 3 people on it now

I'm pretty sure that after being alive for 150 years, with all those wires running through them, viagra just wouldn't cut it anymore.
Also, I think now that the respawn can be explained as some kind of modified version of the life extender machine- just like the Mann brothers they're constantly dying and coming back to life, so it kind of fits.
