I want to upgrade my 7850 but there's a lot of choices at my price range.
I'm currently running:
i5 3570k @ 4.3 GHz
8 GB G.Skill 1600 MHz
ASUS Direct CU II 7850 @ 1000/1275
ASRock Z77 Extreme3
Corsair TX650M
Crucial M4 128GB SSD for OS
Crucial M4 256GB SSD for everything else
Hyper212+
Antec 1100
2 ASUS 1920x1080 monitors soon to be 3.
My budget caps at about $250~
I'm in the US.
I was like at the 7950 or a 760.
I like PhysX effects but they aren't NECESSARY if there's a better choice on AMD's end.
There is nothing you can buy that will be worth your $250. The 760, Gigabyte's 7870 (slightly cheaper but similar performance), and the 7870 XT are all in that price range, but in my opinion it might not be worth spending the money on them. They aren't that much of an improvement. To put things into perspective: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-7850-vs-GeForce-GTX-760. I would recommend CrossfireX with another 7850 if you have the PSU and motherboard for it. Otherwise your best bet is one of the previously mentioned cards.
Like flayne said, CFX with another 7850 would be your best bet as anything at that price range won't be worth the money
CFX can be pretty buggy, and you'll need enough PSU wattage to support it. I've checked your motherboard and it should support CFX in theory, and AMD are releasing drivers fixing some of the CFX issues, but i wouldn't do it myself
Personally i'd say your best choice is simply saving up for a 7950/7970/nvidia 770 as every other component in your rig is high-end and won't cause a bottleneck. If this isn't an option, get another 7850.
be best to get another 7950: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121651
