Hey,
I'm at a loss to what kind of Cpu's my motherboard can take. My computer Used to be a pre-built, but most things on it are now different except for CPU and Mobo.
I've tried google, and I've tried Gateway support.
Here is what I know about it.

Just look up the model at a retailer like Newegg, they will tell you.

Not even in the stores anymore. It was a newegg exclusive.
if it's socket 775, it'll take any Core 2 processor, be that Core 2 Duo, or Core 2 Quad.

What about the Bios.
i doubt your Bios will need any changes, but look at the manufacturers homepage for any bios updates, it's always good to have the latest version.

If that is then it should support the 45nm CPUs so any core 2 X should work.
