I am look for a good network storage device that I can use most for media storage. Mostly movies I have alot of movies and want to go digital with all of them and my music. Anyone have something they recommend and maybe a play back device. I think the google tv thing might work??
Chromecast is reasonably decent, although i have personally not had much of a play with it.
I have used a Raspberry Pi model B with OpenElec. It does make a cheap solution, however, it will be a rather low-end media center solution (the real perk though? Streaming from illegal sources to get movies!)
I have a NAS box I built earlier this year running Linux (CentOS) software raid (mdadm) with Samba for filesharing, and had Lubuntu as a plex sever...swapped it out for Debian recently due to memory leak issues somewhere.

It's very powerful, and I host a ton of stuff on there, but it may be out of your budget.
