Computer sometimes locks up completely on use/disconnect of any USB port

Thread title. It just completely freezes. Mouse stops working, all sounds cut out, computer itself goes dead silent. It stays on, but it just stops. The only way to turn it off is either the power switch on the back or holding the power button On restart, there is no error message.

The thing that makes me worried is that it only happens SOMETIMES, but it's getting more and more frequent. Have I fucked something up?

You might have to install the drivers for your motherboard if you havent already, they would be on a disk that came with your motherboard.
