So I've been having this issue with my computer. MOBO is a z77 extreme3.
I use speedfan to control my cpu/gpu fan. I have an extra cpu fan, but its hooked up as a side intake fan.
Now, when I start my computer the cpu fans come on at full blast. Which is pretty fucking loud and annoying. Luckily speedfan can fix this when I log-in (or it resumes from sleep).
The only fix I have found for this is to go to my BIOS and change the fan values to target 30% power at so and so temperature. This works great, except speedfan can no longer control the fans. Also when in this mode, the cpu fans wont speed up when playing intense games.
So basically: how to get fans to start at a lower speed on boot up, but still let speedfan control the?
Your fans are supposed to speedup untill the mobo POSTS. After that they should be motherboard regulated.
Check your bios settings and if you actually have the right fans connected to the right connectors.
They are on the right connectors, I'll play around with some of the bios fan settings.
I know they are supposed to full on, but it won't stop until I log in, and speedfan starts
Also I know speedfan has a setting "turn fans to 100% on close" or something. Maybe that somehow is affecting it?
