Getting rid of the Vertical Black borders on my videos? Help! I looked everywhere

So I been having these annoying issues with all my videos ever since 08. I will give you the best description possible!
* First I have a monitor with the resolution of 1024 by 764 pixels ( that's what it says at least)
* I have fraps 3.0.3
* No widescreen I guess that is obvious
* The borders show in Windows media player but not in sony vegas, yes i have tried resizing all i get is the whole image being moved instead of the sides
* Been asking a shit load of people and most said it was my resolution, so I made all my games smaller but that didn't work that just made my eyes sore from trying to read tiny text
I actually have been looking for a fix for about 4 months since that's when I noticed it.
Note: Get out of the big you tube player, by default they have small borders on those.
Here is my example video

Here are other questions. If i get a widescreen will that fix my problem and make it look like these?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-0XinQtVpI see! No borders! That means it's either my screen, resolution, resizing, or other settings. How do i know that? Well because people make these videos and give them to them and if there is an error they probably correct it. Now what? Help me please! I'll love who ever helps me fix this problem I have been having this problem for a really long time. Free cookies for all :)
Maybe it isn't all that and maybe it's just you tube? Now that i think of it i Don't know if i saw these borders on my old videos till late 08. Do i have to adjust my videos to work with youtube correctly? Please help me :) Who ever helps me shall get cookie
Also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTUOn2EUFhk&feature=related uploaded 06 i don't know if it had borders on original upload
Getting a whole new monitor isn't going to fix jack shit. Mess around with the resolution in your games, and try upgrading your drivers.

Wow I love you i found one that has no borders in windows movie player! Lets hope it works!
So that means all i had to do was match up My monitor resolution with my game one?
Edit: The resolution was 1280 x 768 x 32 in gta san andreas :)
Also so widescreen doesn't do shit? just more icon space on desktop and makes it bigger then? If that's the case then i will just buy a new hdd and windows 7 then ill finally enjoy my computer

Oh Nevermind Instead of vertical borders they are now horizontal borders! but at least they show in sony vegas now Can someone help ? Thank you!

Some games are made for widescreen monitors, (you can set the resolution of the game in video options)
You can also try to set a costum resolution for that game in regedit.
Just keep searching for The game you wan't to change in regedit until you find the key's width and height and set these to the desired resolution
I got some old games to run at 1680x1050 with this. (Like Morrowind)
