So facepunch, I have this rat, Socrates. Most amazing pet I've ever had but unfortunately unforeseen circumstances had me fly down to Capetown leaving behind a lot of stuff including her. The cheapest pet transport I found can get her here for 100 dollars (converted to US currency to ironically be Internationally understood) and due to a recent burglary its over my budget . I've tried to bride friends on Facebook to bring her down with them is they come on holiday, but nobody wants a rat in their car (ignorant fools think all rats naturally have the black plague).
She rarely used to be in her cage (always on my shoulder or somewhere) and now she's been sitting in the cage sleeping nonstop for weeks, I feel so sorry for it. My grandparents are taking care of her, but they can't do that for ever (they're old and av their own problems).
I've requested some people try and find another home for it but I miss the damn rodent and would like to have it crawl around my sleeves as I rate the stupid posts made by you guys.
Is there any way you can help me facepunch?

Damn you guys are nice... I've lived in a hostel for a year and a half and its supposed to be a tight 'brotherhood' and shit. But It's always surprised me to see how complete strangers have more empathy and trust with each other on this site than most of the assholes in that hostel ever had with each other face to face.

I lost my rat a few days ago, he died in my arms. I was fairly heartbroken. If I lived nearby I'd gladly take your rat in, I absolutely love rats. They fascinate me with how human they can be at times. Mine would try and find even sneakier ways to steal a sweet without being caught (going as far as hiding under a sheet of paper solid snake style while sneaking over).
