• Asus Power4Gear overlays suck

So I'm on an Asus laptop (fuck yes) which uses Power4Gear power saving technology or something. It's nice in general because it lets you switch between a battery saving mode, office mode, high-powered mode and entertainment (movie) mode. What pisses me off, though, is the little overlay things that pop up whenever you change something (disable the track-pad, turn up/down sound, change mode, etc.). It has a semi-transparent overlay that covers the entire center area of the screen for about twenty seconds after choosing the setting. Sometimes, like today (I was moving my Steam files into a new hard drive), while the computer is doing lots of things and I change my volume, the overlay doesn't show up for roughly three minutes. Then, when it does show up, it stays on one frame of the animation for up to seven minutes. It's irritating, especially when watching videos online or playing an FPS. Does anyone know how to disable these overlays, or simplify them?
I have an Asus laptop too. Asus should never make any software. Download Autoruns (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx ) and disable most of Asus related startup items. Feel free to disable other crap to make your laptop faster. Just dont disable any Windows stuff
