• Major bottleneck on 5770?

So, my friend is going to buy a 5770 for his pre-built, since his current card (9400GT), doesn't run BF:BC2 very well, to say it lightly. He get's about 15FPS. Apart from his PSU, which I'm certain he will have to change, I'm afraid he will have to get a new CPU too, if he don't want to bottleneck the shit out of the 5770, since it's a Intel Celeron E3200. My quistion now is; How big will the bottleneck be. I'm sure he will be okay with it if he get's over 35FPS, but I'm aware BF:BC2 is very CPU-hungry, so I'm not quite sure. And if he needs a new one, what is the cheapest non-bottlenecking CPU, that will fit into the LGA775? I guess he will be getting a C2D. Shit! wrong icon!
A celeron, really? expect him to get no to 5 fps improvement over his current set up, a dualcore/quadcore is kind of needed to run BC2 smoothly Ah, didnt read A core2duo should give him alot of improvement, unsure how much
It wouldn't be that much of a bottleneck maybe 5 FPS. A 2,2 ghz C2D would do the trick. But is it worth it ? Let him decide
No, it's going to be an enormous bottleneck and you do not want a C2D for BC2. If he's just going to be playing BC2 and nothing else, just get a Q8300 or Q9400, all the Core 2 Duos are going to perform like crap in that game. People who have the same rigs as other people but shittier CPUs (say a Q9400 for one and an E8400 for the other), the E8400 gets huge FPS loss by comparison.
Fair enough, that was what I would like to know.. Though I'm not ecactly happy with the answer :/ Guess ha got to wait till I change my 4830 (Being soon), so he can get that and save 200$, so he can get a C2Q..
Upgrading prebuilts never really ends that well, the case and motherboard are unlikely to be ATX form so a new PSU may not fit in the case and the mobo won't fit into a new case so he may as well start again with a new build
