Sleep paralysis is horrible, but that video is stupid, you're not going to die from and it's not as horrible like the people in this video say.
There's a dreams megathread in the general discussion, read it as it's very useful. Also, as a lucid dreamer, sleep paralysis is more common with lucid dreams (before or after), but you get used to it. Once you realize it's not real and everything is in your head no matter how realistic it seems, it's more like being in a holographic horror movie where nothing can hurt you. It also depends on the type of lucid dreaming, WILD or MILD, the former is straight from awake to a lucid, which includes the mandatory sleep paralysis stage. The latter is when you realize you're lucid while in a normal dream, this might include sleep paralysis when waking up, but it doesn't happen that often. But read the GD thread, it'll answer everything.
Yeah but am i going to shit brix factory? I really dont want to have the worst and the most terrifying nightmare in my life. Thats not the only video that says sleep paralysis is really that terrible. Theres even worser criticism.
EDIT: That was reply to ventnor's post
Also lucid dreaming hasn't been directly linked to sleep paralysis, just suggested that it increases the chance. I have had countless night terrors before which were also accompanied by hallucinations, and I thought I was going to die, pretty scary but they lasted like 5 mins then I went back to sleep and was fine.
I have only had one lucid dream before, was crazy.
You won't die. It's like a coma, except this form of coma can go away.
You can go into lucid dreaming without using the wild method.
It takes longer and there's a less chance that it will happen, but you only get sleep paralysis if you do it the wild way
edit; that "documentary" looks more like some religious heebyjeeby than an actual documentary.
there's a website in the sleep megathread that explains more about what sleep paralysis is, it's nothing more than some part of your brain that goes berserk when you act in a certain way
edit2; when I look closer to the video, it's just people saying what they thought about their sleep paralysis but no one who actually explains why and how
edit3; 0:50. HAAHHAHAHAHHAHA, that's not sleep paralysis you stupid, thats being raped. Silly woman

I agree, I actually closed it due to not being bothered to watch it, but I was skeptical 2 seconds in when I saw the words 'supernatural attacks' :colbert:
Also yeah, you can do things to help ease yourself into lucid dreaming, just google it.
