My Windows 8 Samsung laptop has been a pain in the ass and currently has a cracked screen, corners and other malfunctions that bug me a lot, so for this upcoming Christmas I'd like a new laptop after the old one is fixed and sold to someone else, but I'd like some suggestions, preferably from experience, but if you have some good views on a laptop model that you've seen and or heard about, feel free to put your input about that too. **budget around 500-900 although i'd be willing to pay a high price for a laptop I really like The basic things/preferences that i'd want in a laptop are: appearance wise: -not too thin, but not too fat either -not too reflective screen -good keyboard -reasonable amount of USB ports and a headphone and mic jack other things: -good sound, graphics, not too slow; not laggy etc. Oh and the main things are I'd like it to be good with running games of all kinds; like steam and dvd games like The Sims and yadda yadda, like vERY good gaming performance or at least reasonably good gaming performance another thing is something that would be good to with graphic art; as in with my Intous Tablet, Paint Tool Sai, CS6 Flash and Photoshop and with things like Livestreaming, audio programs; music art and gaming in general. Idk maybe its impossible for a laptop with all these things to be out there, but if anything i'd just like it to be good with Gaming, Art and Music (or audio); supporting my Intous Tablet, Paint Tool Sai, Steam games (games in general), and Livestreaming. Sooo yeah
What the fuck is your budget can't expect us to provide anything useful without it. though really you should probably just get a desktop with a good IPS panel, unless you absolutely must carry it around all the time.
shit yeah forgot to add that. anyways something around 500-900; preferably not very high, but i'm willing to pay a high price depending on how much I like it as for the desktop option i'm not sure that would really work, even though that Is a p good idea. I'm about to be on the go a lot and I'd like to have my projects I work on with me so that wouldn't be very efficient

Best stick with the laptop then. Unfortunately though, you pretty much have to give up on gaming at that price, the "gaming" laptops you will find at that price tend to be poorly built, with shit battery lifes, and without really much gaming performance either. Not like you can't play games with the normal intel HD 4000 graphics though, just turn the resolution down and you should be fine. But anyways, some choices you can look at: Refurbished macbook pros, if you don't mind glossy screens, they have excellent looking displays and are built well. Refurbed computers tend to be held under pretty high scrutiny, so it should function well. There are also macbook airs, but they tend to be very underpowered. If the software and stuff you wanna play work on macs then go ahead and give these a look. For windows there's the lenovo laptops. I've read that the yoga ultrabooks have pretty decent sound and a good screen, however they don't have a mic jack. USB mics are available though. The X230 is also pretty good from lenovo If you want a good 1080p display while still keeping good build quality with decent performance, there's also the dell XPS-12, it's slightly more expensive, but has a 1080p display. Good sound, and graphics are subjective, but IMO those are sacrifices you have to make for a laptop. The strip speakers they use at best sound okay if you're an audiophile, if all you want is to hear a movie and stuff though, they're fine. To judge displays you could go to best buy who likely have some of these laptops and look at the displays yourself. If you're lucky they might let you bring a usb and play a video to test the sound as well, I doubt it though. USBs are a big security risk.

Alienware computers seem to be your best bet, they're totally wicked brah.
Maybe think about having something like the asus f751 which has (or in one model) a GeForce 820 2GB... Its basic but if your only playing things like Sims then it might get the job done depending on what you do. Should be better than the integrated Graphics for Photoshop

You'd lose the durability that the dell, macs, and lenovos I listed are known, without much of a gain to performance. Unless you have a wicked large budget you have to sacrifice somewhere, if you don't plan to just sit it on your desk in your room for its entire life durability is quite important.
