I bought myself a pair of Sennheiser HD215s

and I think they are probably the greatest headphones you can buy for such a price £40-£60
They're superbly comfortable and are very snug. They are rugged and look pretty cool which is one of the main reasons I bought them. The other reason I bought them was because the reviews it got were fantastic. "superb quality" "super comfort!"
I buy them and plug em into my ipod and the sound is absolutely superb, then I give them to some of my mates to sample and its all like "NO BASS AT ALL" "WASTE OF MONEY" "THEY ARE SO SHIT" "SHOULD'VE GOT SKULLCANDY OR BOSE!"
I was like.............right.............
fuck you..........
I sampled skullcandys before and they were a pretty funky looking pair of headphones, then we listen to them and they are THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE headphones in the world, the background noise isn't drowned out well and the bass from the phones overpower the whole track and overall the skullcandy headphones which were about the same price as the ones above were quite shite indeed......
Bose use technology which is ONLY ever useful on aeroplanes and even my sennheisers don't sound bad on them..can really listen to them properly and all
I can listen to my music with sennheisers for HOURS without any real itching and the need to really take them off, in fact I get quite annoyed that I actually have to take them off to listen to other people.
Good headphones are only ever good when they deliver an ALL round experience with your music... if you want to deafen yourself, buy yourself some in-ear headphones....
There are some real dicks who buy dr dre beats headphones and walk around with them on the streets trying to look cool, those are £300 headphones which can only do noise cancelling pretty well and not much else
I want to enjoy my music for hours, I rarely listen to things for short periods of time and the ONLY pair of headphones that have really delivered an all round service of comfort AND quality are the ones pictured. The ones costing £100 or more are really only meant for the studio and not particularly for leisure use.
Headphones are meant to let you experience your music in a way that you really can't think about anything else apart from just the music, if the ones you have bought can't do so... then you've made the biggest mistake of your life
Skullcandy. :downs: Those suck.
Well, as long as you like them, it's fine. Skullcandy are huge pieces of shit, and bose are incredibly expensive. You made a good decision choosing the middle price ground.
I rated you heart because you are not a mindless rambling lunatic caught by mainstream obsessions.
I agree. I have some $20 Skullcandy earbuds, which I'm quite fond of, and they work pretty well with my ipod. However, I also own a pair of Sennheiser HD201's, and I can wear them for hours on end without them bothering me. They're like a child to me.
Those HD215's are pretty sexy, though. I might have to look into getting a pair.
I completely agree with you. These are my headphones:

The Sony MDR-NC60's, got them brand new for £90. They are very comfortable, have great noise cancelling and great quality. How people on my bus can use the standard Apple earphones is beyond me. They are the worst quality, must uncomfortable things ever made.
I had some >£30 Sennheisers, in ear earphones. I felt that they delivered much cripser, louder and bassier sound. In ear always seems to sound better in my opinion. They were also very comfortable.
bought skullcandy buds and Hesh ones too, and they both broke, waste of money, now i, stuck with cheap sony inear phones :/
@OP: My brother managed to get the Dr Dre Beats headphones off of eBay for £30, in which case they are worth it.
All in all, I completely agree with you.
Maybe at home headphones are acceptable, but out in the world, ear buds are the way to go. Much more portable and you don't look like a hipster.
i have Denon headphones, never had any better, or wore anything better
Sennheiser HD201s here.
Quality :v:
bought skullcandy buds and Hesh ones too, and they both broke, waste of money, now i, stuck with cheap sony inear phones :/
forgot to mention... all over ear skullcandy headphones have really shit build quality, I know a guy who dropped it on the floor after about a month of use, one of the phones shattered and it became useless, they feel REALLY flimsy, even the £50 ones, the hesh headphones are probably ok but they are nowhere near as comfortable as any sennheiser or sonys in that price range
I don't really worship my headphones like some people, but I do sometimes treat them roughly, but they are SO well build that they feel as if I could jump on them and they would still be as strong as ever...i'm not gonna, but still :]
@rampageturke, which denons have you got? Heard the high end ones are really nice

Heard great things about those creatives, really like it that you can detach everything, quite nice looking too.
I can't really recommend anything better than those unless you are willing to spend a heck of a lot more, I would be happy enough with those if they were comfortable, I could enjoy listening to music and gaming with them.
Recommend
High End: Sennheiser PC350 -
those are absolutely the most sleek gaming headphones ever :P
probably one of the most expensive though :/
Mid End: Creative HS980

heard good things about these, but still if you are happy with those creatives, then I would really stick with those until you feel greedy enough to get the good quality from games
mind you, if you think your creative ones are excellent you won't think much more of the ones above....
@rampage, Very sleek, why are you complaining you didn't get an EVEN higher end one!!! those ones you have are probably at the highest end you can get to! 5 Hertz frequency response :/ didn't even know that was possible

That Creative headset you posted there.
Heard of a site called Lockerz?
I suggested that Creative headset to them to put up for their redemption.
If they do get one there, I'll definitely snag it.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Hearts 4 U.
I'll go suggest that Sennheiser headset too, thanks!
I need ultra strong headphones.. I tend to bash them off my head when I rage.

I just bought the 215s a few months back as well, got them for £45 and I absolutely love them, the fatalitys are a disaster compared to these, don't get them (I owned a pair of fatalitys so I know.)

Under $20, you can't beat those for sound. Good bass and clear mid to highs, lifetime warranty.
One thing, they don't cancel noise or keep sound from bleeding out. Also, they have a snap connector to hold the speaker onto the earband. Well, they tend to eventually get loose enough that having the speaker pop off, under pressure only, becomes common. But that's what the lifetime warranty is for!
Best pair of headphones there is for $100, the Koss PRO4AA
