• iPod Touch docking in cars.

Well I was planning on getting my dad an iPod Touch for Christmas, one of the 64GB ones since he always has a huge wallet of CDs in his car. Though he just recently phoned me to say eh got a bargain deal for £230 for a 64GB one, which got me a bit down since I was going to get him one. So I've decided i'm going to get him a small docking device or something for his car, so he can slot it in, it can charge and play music. In the car it has an AUX port on the front stereo, and I've tested it before that it works perfectly with my iPod using a small male/male jack. There's also a spare cigarette lighter for the charging too. However i'm stuck on deciding what docking frame to get. From a google search it has boggled me. What is all of this "Fm Transmitter Dock For Ipod Touch" shit? I just want some thing to hold the ipod touch, with a recharge cable that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I have the audio cable to plug it through the headphone jack on the ipod to the car stereo. If some one could help me out it would be much appreciated.
The factory options are usually pretty nice depending on the car and how much money you want to spend. Or http://www.google.com/search?q=ipod+car+mount + http://www.google.com/search?q=ipod+car+charger = Merry Christmas

I'll get one of them Kensington holders with the flexible arm and a black car charge to match. Thanks a lot. Yes... 3G necessity! Written by CJ Jul 15, 2008 Picked one up the same day I got my 3G. My truck's power port was perfectly located on my dash area. The gooseneck positioned the 3G closer to eye level, so I could easily view it while driving (I know I shouldn't). A few cool things that stand out: 1. I could swivel this into landscape mode, awesome for GPS/maps. I noticed when in landscape, the release button only released the top arm and not the bottom, which I'm assuming is intentional to keep the 3G in place. 2. I've got a skin on my phone and the dock is adjustable in every way. Spacer pops off by the connector, the clamps are wide enough to accomodate case, and the back support moves forward and back as needed. Most importantly, does what it is supposed to, charge the phone! …More 200 of 214 people found this useful
From the picture, it looks like it's blocking the audio input for iPhones, by the way. Just a warning to anyone with an iPhone who thinks this is a good idea. Personally, I'd recommend this: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/windowseat I tried several ones that are supposed to attach to the air vents, but they never fucking stay on. This however, will stay on pretty well, not to mention will let you have it in portrait or landscape. [editline]04:24AM[/editline] As for charging it, you can buy a car USB charger, like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Mini-Charger-Mobile-Devices/dp/B002LARN9I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1261023856&sr=8-2 and just hook up the iPod to it.
I'm using a Belkin TuneFM. Wireless, but includes lighter socket USB charger.
Does your father have a GPS?
