• What exactly has the most sustenance in a salad bar?

I was buying a salad today priced by mass and it had me thinking, what ingredient in the average has the most sustenance per mass? If I find this I could theoretically get the most out of my money (although I still will probably go with whatever tastes the best). I'm not a scientist, but I'd assume you could find this out by buying each the ingredients, weighing them, burning them, and measuring energy released, but I unfortunately do not have the time and resources to do this. Are there any resident scientists or food nuts here that happen to know the best ingredient to get the most of if I'm paying by mass?
