Well, Shin Godzilla's new direction was very appealing--[sp]having Godzilla start as a larvae and evolve into probably the most powerful iteration of the series, all shooting lasers from its back.[/sp]
Not sure what setting it in the future bodes. Would Godzilla have to be even more powerful in order to oppose futuristic technology?
I doubt they're ever gonna make Godzilla as horrifying to look at a Shin really, the exposed muscle look is strange as is the mouth going really far back.
Plus the half mile long tail aswell with what looks like charred bodies on the end of it.

Those weren't just bodies. They were the next and presumably final form.

In this, Godzilla is so powerful that he single-handedly caused humanity to abandon Earth, and he's had twenty thousand years of evolution on top of that. His power level is going to be pretty damn high.
The real question is whether or not the main writer is going to use the same twist he uses in every other show he's written. It's happened like four or five times by now so it's probably going to happen again.
