Sony has been making some great choices with the PS3 and PSN lately, I hope they continue this.
I can see it now 20 years in the future.

Considering disk refers to a shape of something, I'd be surprised if we stop using that term all together.

As long as people have shitty internet (or are tech illiterate), Retail games will still be bought.
Plus the fact that there are literally tons of customers who buy nothing but used games and rent them through gamefly.
Unless there comes a system where you can freely buy and sell your own games digitally without any danger then discs are here to stay.
i like having physical copies of games
owning games digitally doesn't have that same feel
Steam's been well-off I'm just wondering why Sony took so long to take this initiative. They're so many years behind.
I can imagine one of their future consoles to be internet-only and would -somewhat- fix their piracy fears.

you really think 50gb blu-ray discs are going to become obsolete any time soon? lmao
good luck downloading 50gb games, not all countries have unlimited internet. not to mention fast enough internet

Wasn't the PSP Go online only and didn't that bite the dust pretty quickly?

It won't take 20 years.
Now all we need is for the retailers to stop being assholes and make global release dates the same
