First off, why are you buying a Dell XPS M1730 when they don't sell them anymore? Second off, How much is it? Thirdly, I recommend a Dell Studio XPS 16 Fourth, Yes it will easily run Gmod and Battlefield on Full *maybe not AA Maxed, but still* Finally, Have fun with your 30 minute battery with a large as a brick laptop.
I'd recommend an asus, if you give me your budget I'll find one for you.
gateway P-series! Mine ran crysis on high, @ 1440x900 (screen res) and it was about 45FPS average.. (Mind you the GPU was overclocked) and gmod ran great... 8800m GTS, but they have the new 9800M GTS and the rebranded GTX260M and GTX280M

It has to be from dell business section for 1. And yeah they do sell those models still, The battery life is not really that important to me, there is a plug socket wherever i go. The price is £1100 about, with delivery included. I could get another laptop from another place for £1100, but i'd have to be able to get it through business finance option. If one of you can find somewhere that does that, please link me :D
£1100 is a total ripoff.
Lol yep. But I'm not personally paying for it, it's getting done through work. Which restricts my choices, a lot. Dell business laptops aren't very good, but it's better than nothing. It's either this XPS, Or I'm working on my boss to try get the alienware M17x from them.

Oh and I finally got my Asus laptop in the mail. It has a 9800m, 4GB ram, and Dual core 2.3GHz processor (64 bit windows). It runs TF2, Gmod and every other source game extremely well with everything, including AA and filtering maxed out. I haven't tried any of the Battlefield games yet, but it can run Crysis on everything except AA on high at minimum resolution and still get a reasonable framerate. If you can get an Asus laptop, go for it. If it's got the same parts as the ones I've listed above, I can guarantee it will run your games the way you want it to. Although they may be a bit expensive. The one I got was at a steal of a deal, getting refurbished and getting the price slashed in half from $1600. Although that laptop sold out, from last time I checked, there should be another one on tigerdirect that is also $1600, which would cost around £1,014 (without shipping etc).
