Boarding enemy ships when?
proper multi-crew fighting is coming along, they've already added the playability of someone hopping out of their ships and into your multi-capable ship's secondary seats, though the functionality is pretty limited without the additional systems they're still working on.
Up next is the [mentioned] FPS module, which is a HUGE chunk of content related to actual player action and interaction that we'd need when getting into boarding action and the like. From what we've seen of demos in the past, you'll likely be boarding/infiltrating a dead space station, though in the future I'd bet there may be more asymmetrical modes that introduce mechanics in fighting your way into boarding a carrier or smaller ship (many ships are designed with the concept in mind that they're technically mini FPS maps, so it could vary in size depending on player preference of boarding style/coop player numbers). I'd assume that would be the start of publicly testing 'electronic warfare' systems, though I don't expect that soon
beyond that though, the social module (aka non-combat stuff like a planetside location with shops and general hanging about in each others' hangars) will be "soon" after the FPS release, all the while other teams are slowly working to expand some of the alpha modules with more gamemodes. "Pirate Swarm" is one of the additions mentioned, where you'll fight waves of pirates flying the same types of ships players can (instead of just the one vanduul ship type/fighting style), and some other 'added functionality' that we can only speculate over. Their goal is to make the gamemode just 'swarm' and you can customize it a bit better

Kinda reminds me of the training room in Ender's Game
