Good! It's an incredible game and I hope Bioware make more like it. The amount of content blows my mind. After every single mission including the smallest side missions just about every crew member has something new to say about the mission you just did. That alone is blowing me away.

Agreed, there is a ton of content and it's great so far. I can't believe I am 18 hours in, and ME1 would be over like 5-6 hours ago.
I'm truely amazed by the plot, the voice acting, and the overall effort put into the game. I've never seen a better one in all my days.
Not sure if above posts are praise or sarcasm v:v:v
Let me make use of this post by asking ME3 owners: If I've played through ME1 and ME2, but lost the save games, would I be missing out on much? How much data can I input to define the decisions I would've made in previous games?

Fuck automerge

Well, hey. Thanks for the spoilers!
idk seems like everyone has been crying about little things on mass effect 3. I've been using my save from mass effect 1 and so far i'm 23 hours into mass effect 3. It's fucking awesome then again I didn't spend every living moment searching info about mass effect 3 and getting myself hyped up for it like most of the fp fans did.

I like how you spoiled some really big things.
That was very nice of you.

Played ~1/3 of ME3 at a friend's before I lost interest, so take this as you will: ME3 is about collecting allies, so who you let live and who you recruited in the previous games comes into question. However, saving one character might mean the inevitable doom for another character (even if there's no direct connection, the game will simply drop rocks on character A when you saved B, whereas it won't suddenly drop rocks on character A if you killed B.)
A few death scenes are done well, but most just run under the assumption that death will emotionally engage you immediately. In my opinion, the cause of a lot of deaths is silly and adds nothing to the narrative in the long run. It's just a cheap shot at getting you involved.
If horror movies can engage you just because the group ~mysteriously~ loses one guy after another, then Mass Effect 3's overall story may grab you. Otherwise, the dialog system and overall design is the same and the gameplay hasn't changed a lot either.
Maybe you need a waifu to get hooked to the story, I dunno. Sending comedy relief characters into death is just desperate IMO. Character death for me is something you carefully plan out, not something you throw around to wrap up the trilogy.
/opinion, open for reasonable discussion via PM
i am ashamed to say i am a part of this 3.5 million
i completed me1, me2, and m3 with all perfect endings and was very disappointed by most of the game because literally nothing i did mattered or changed the ending or future of my shepard, and all of the characters i cared about, significantly. i immediately uninstalled all mass effect related items from my computer, and origin, because me3's ending combined with how mediocre the overall story was soured the entire series for me. I know i won't be going back and playing any of the other games again.
I don't know about the gameplay, but ME3 is the worst game storywise
The child is one of the worst things of the game.
ijyt, are you some kind of Biodrone with all of these dumb ratings?
ijyt, are you some kind of Biodrone with all of these dumb ratings?
Do you have a be a biodrone to like ME3?
Even if you don't like the business practice that went with it.

while i know ratings don't matter, having the compulsive need to give dumb ratings to everyone that shows an opinion on a game that does not complement your own opinion shows that you are probably somehow offended, or that they are somehow stupid or unintelligent for having that opinion no matter how reasonable they are in sharing it.
"i must defend this game by calling others that do not like it dumb or stupid"
so yeah hes a biodrone. or at least he thinks mass effect 3 is an untouchable masterpiece.

If you like any Bioware game you are a mindless biodrone.
That's why it's typically good policy to consider anyone who uses the word seriously an idiot

but mass effect 1 was good
or maybe thinking that makes me a "hipster" because i liked bioware before they sold out to ea?
anyone who likes me3 is a biodrone and anyone who dislikes it is a hipster. there, are we all settled now?

He's being sarcastic...
I still don't know if i should get this. I've seen the Tali thing and the last part of the ending but I want to play through it just to finish the trilogy
I'm surprised I haven't heard any complaining about it being on Origin, considering all the flak Battlefield 3 got.

It's worth it, sure the ending is pretty dark, but the rest of the game is really good. Also things like the Tali thing you're referring to are just really minor flaws that shouldn't affect your opinion of the game, I'd say get it.
I'm downloading it right now after hesitating because of origin and the launch-day DLC prothean character (argghghghgh)
i hope it's good because ME1 is my favorite sci-fi rpg second to KOTOR
I thought the story was actually pretty good. Most of the stuff that people seem to be bitching about are very minor including the child.
Only 2 hours in at the moment but I'm about to play more, probably be tired as shit for work tomorrow but this game is really great so far.
My copy's still in the post; i'll have it installed in about 3-5 days depending on when it arrives. Haven't really physically-installed a game for quite a while; even when my copy of Skyrim came in the post, I only needed to put the code into Steam, and thus i've never utilised the disc.
Despite EA being cunts (expresses my strong negative sentiments towards them), i'm still buying this game; but don't think i'll be giving them any more of my money after this, even if they DID give me the N7 Warfare DLC for pre-ordering. As for the stuff from the Amalur demo, it was kind of a nice bonus for trying out a product that looked promising.
But even for all of this, i'm still not going to buy anything else from EA. Sure if they toss me a free worthwhile bone I might grab it, but other than that I just don't think i'll be buying from BioWare until they find some way to jump ship and get with a less capitalist publisher. And if that means I never buy from BioWare ever again, so be it.
I'm sorry, that's the way i'm voting with my wallet; the fivers say *newp!*, the tenners say NO, and the twenties (currently not residing there) say fuck off. My spare change in my wallet also voice their jingly-jangly disapproval, and eagerly await being handed over to pay for hash browns (if I end up skipping breakfast on my college days).
Anti-Ea sentiments aside, I eagerly await my copy, though I hope it doesn't interfere with my coursework too much. Even if I don't play much this month, i'll definitely be playing plenty over Easter break.
People bought this shit?
People bought this shit?
You seem to give off bad vibes here; what are your gripes with the game? And don't run off; that's a symptom of serious brain damage. (then again, if that happens, you should seriously see a doctor)
Based on our feelings about the title around the Shacknews office, that last sentence seems a lot closer to fact than hyperbole.
Because not only is Bioware currently on par with Activision/IW in terms of utter laziness and complete lack of passion, it's also a horribly written game.
Have you seen the gay Shepard sex scene video? It's like it was written by Hepler herself.
Thanks for not properly warning about spoilers, and most of those seem really far-fetched. Especially the bottom left, that's just grasping at straws.
[editline]e[/editline]
Seriously, why has this game made everyone ignore spoiler etiquette? Nothing has changed in the realm of common sense.

That picture is grasping at straws to find stuff that make the game "cheap". Who cares if they edited stock images? Who cares if everything isn't 100% amazing original content? It has a lot of hype, sure, but it's by no means the perfect game, and it's not trying to be.
Personally, I thought the game was pretty well done. It wasn't as good as I hoped, but then again my expectations were really high. I also don't think you should be judging the game on the sex scenes. Also, the promo is MEANT to be the same, because it was aired during the walking dead or something like that.
