This sounds like a simple problem (and it probably is) but it's absolutely boggling my mind. At some point, the sound just completely disappeared with some of my applications. For example, Google Chrome and VirtualBox are completely muted, while Firefox and most of my Steam games (haven't checked all of them yet) have the sound working completely fine. I know I didn't accidentally hit the mute button on my sound mixer because I checked that, and I know I didn't just turn the volume down on my applications because I checked that too and they're all at the same level. My headphones work fine and the sounds from the applications aren't registering on my soundboard, so I know it's not a hardware problem as far as I know?
So what happened? Did I do something stupid and internally muted these applications? Am I crazy? Or am I so completely computer retarded that I can't do something that's probably very simple? I suspect all three, but I need help!
