Well, there are a few laptops in the future shop flier, And my mom said I could choose one for a early christmas present, tbh they probably suck, Which one would be my best bet, that MIGHT run source games like css and TF2 Emachines Laptop featuring AMD Athlon TF-20 processor 3GB of RAM 160GB HDD Windows 7 Price: $369 OR Acer Laptop featuring AMD Athlon TF-20 processor 3GB of RAM 250GB HDD Windows 7 Price: $399 They don't really give the graphics card details, Should I just go there and pick whatever one has the best graphics card? edit The Acer has a ATI Radeon HD 3200 in it, Would that be enough to run css?
If you turn down reflections, shadows and don't keep textures and stuff very high, it shouldn't be any problem. (Radeon HD 3200)
Yea, I'v been reading some reviews on the Acer...Probably gonna go with it
I'd recommend you STAY AWAY from eMachines at all costs :350:
Model and texture detail can be set on high, reflections and shadows may need to be set on low. However with counter strike, you don't need to worry much about water though.
Thanks everyone, Turns out Future shop didn't have it >.> Thought we would try Best Buy and they had it, Paid $549 in total lol, For a extra $50 they added a gig of RAM, Upgraded the HDD to 320GB and added another processor so now its a dual core [editline]08:15PM[/editline] final product [editline]08:26PM[/editline] The CPU speed sucks, only 1.20GHz..
The CPU speed sucks, only 1.20GHz..
i7?
Hey I just got an upgraded version of that laptop in the mail two days ago :buddy:
Apparently I can overclock this card or the CPU speed with the AMD GPU Overclock tool, how would I go about doing this?
Unless if you want to go to the hospital for second degree burns, don't.
But is it possible to increase the CPU speed? Because 1.2GHz is kind of bad for a dual core :/, I could run most games at a decent fps if I could just increase this damn CPU speed
Not really on a prebuilt let alone a laptop. You could do it with software, google for it.
I'v been surfing Google for the past hour or so, I tried the AMD overdrive tool, but everything is grayed out and I can't move any of the sliders.
