Is it possible to use both HD5650 and HD4250 on hybrid crossfire? [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] Any chart for that? [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] Chart for desktop: http://game.amd.com/us-en/content/images/crossfirex/CF_combo_chart.jpg But how about laptop cards?
What the hell, laptop crossfire?
What the hell, laptop crossfire?
Yes, there are some laptops with gtx280m sli, 5870 crossfire and some others. But I want to know about HYBRID crossfire.
You can't change the graphics card in a laptop. It used to be impossible, at least.
Have you never heard of laptops with removable graphics cards?
Well, his point is kinda right. Laptop pci-e is only made for making job easier for manufacturers. If you get better card with same pci-e slot for your laptop, it probably will not fit in case, you will get more heat and you will have shit battery life + unstable system.
The HD5650 and HD4250 are not compatible with each other, I believe 2 cards from the same sub series can be crossfired though Works: i.e a 4850 with a 4870 or 4890 Doesn't Work: i.e 4850 with a 4350 Basically any cards within the 48xx series will work with each other. Same goes for the 58xx series or 57xx series, etc. The thing to remember is Crossfire requires that both cards run at the same clock speeds, and it will never overclock, only underclock. So if you paired a 4870 with a 4850, the 4870's clock speeds will be dropped to match the 4850's speeds.

I believe Hybrid Crossfire is designed to combine the power of a dedicated card and and onboard GPU (on the motherboard). It's kind of pseudo-crossfire, to be honest you won't get that much of a boost in performance using it. I don't think its intended for crossfiring 2 dedicated cards.
