I live in England, and here the legal age to pierce your ears is 16, I currently have a lobe stretched to 6mm and have purchased tapers to get me to 10mm, but my dad got really mad and said I'm not allowed to go any bigger. If I go against him anyway, can he actually do anything?
why do you want it? they dont even look good.
I'm pretty sure they have control until you're 18 but in my opinion I don't see the reason behind stretching your ears but if you want to then ok
Well I assume you still live in his house so he could like ground you or whatever I guess but that's about it
I think they look good and it's my body.
Well, since he's your legal guardian, I suppose he can stop you from doing anything.
Yes, you're under 18. They have full power over you to stop you from doing retarded shit like disfiguring your ears.
From memory, no, but he can use legal options to stop you from doing it. It's stupid anyway.
He can't physically stop you, but he can punish you for doing it (grounding etc)
I think they look good and it's my body.
They look terrible and people with them have a reputation as self righteous douche bags.
I didn't ask for anybodies opinion on stretching ears I just asked about the legality of my dad stopping me doing so, thanks to those who have answered what I actually asked.
Wow you have to wait until your 16 to pierce your ears in the UK?
How the fuck would he legally stop you from stretching your ears anyway? Sue you? Really if you're fearful enough of what they're going to do to actually consider anything legal wise then you probably won't/shouldn't do it anyway as you fear the consequence.
You can go and do it, but you will get it trouble. But yes, they DO have the right to not allow you to use gauges
I didn't ask for anybodies opinion on stretching ears I just asked about the legality of my dad stopping me doing so, thanks to those who have answered what I actually asked.
He can get a temporary court injunction to stop you from doing it lol. Takes a bit of money, and he must be really against it to bother.
You're their property until you're eighteen. Deal with it.
wow, imagine yourself in 10 years wanting to have some work and everybody looks weird at you sending you home because you have disfigured ears. btw what do you think he can legally do? send you to prison for it? if you want you can do it. it's not like anybody would do something not allowed like a tatoo artist who works on a kid without permission..

As he's under 18, he's still legally under the care of their parents. While there are legal ages regarding things such as piercings, a parent can object to it, and have a court place a preventative injunction or "an order" that can stop you from doing things.
He can't do anything. streched ear lobes are cool. And for the ignorant, you can close stretched lobe by surgery. + as pointed out by Kylel999, they close by themselves if they're < 1 inch.
I'm pretty sure under 18 = underage = parents/guardians have control
And for the ignorant, you can close stretched lobe by surgery.
As for this why would you stretch your earlobes in the first place if you're just going to close it again
He can't do anything. streched ear lobes are cool. And for the ignorant, you can close stretched lobe by surgery.
expensive surgery.
They look really disgusting, but its your body
"My dad is a prick, and I'm an angsty teen, so I'm going to rebel against him by mutilating my body and fitting in with my "friends". I'm so badass XD" That's what I read in the OP.
why do you want it? they dont even look good.
That's not what he asked for. I'm not here to disrespect your decision, but think about this first. My friend has his ears stretched, he loves it. Hes 16 aswell. But not even McDonalds will accept him for a job. Its just not appropriate.
I don't think you'd be able to get any job where people can see you
Your dad is just trying to stop you from doing something you will regret. Just stick with small reversible gauges, you're not really old enough to know what you want. Having somewhat extreme body mods will have repercussions later when you're looking for a job, trying to get into a private school, or whatever.
Less than 18 = no-rights subhuman. Primarily because 9 people out of 10 want to do retarded stuff like that.
