What would you do if you woke up tomorrow to find out that you can't online game anymore?

Just wondering how you all would react. And for a short little story of my own.
I moved back in August to a rural part of Nova Scotia. I had no idea that I'd be giving up gaming when I moved though. When my parents suggested moving, I went with the flow, my Dad's in the army so we move often. I didn't think much of it. But rural living..man it isn't fun at all. The only internet provider out here offers satellite internet. In case you didn't know about satellite internet, it essentially makes your latency so high for gaming that playing any game online is almost unplayable. The lag is just unreal, and it goes for any game, not just the newer releases..so even something as old as Counter Strike 1.6 is unplayable.
Now I thought it wouldn't be so bad, I mean, gaming is something that I never relied on. It was something I'd do if I had nothing else going on in my life - so I'd usually only play before bed or maybe on the weekends. But ever since I moved, it's been really hard to just "move on" from gaming. I'd usually play some online games to wind down after a stressful day or maybe just to relax, but I don't have that luxury any more. I keep telling myself to get over it, it's only gaming, but it's been messing with me really bad lately. No more Counter Strike, had to sit out on Black Ops and Halo Reach, can't play any TF2, ect. Whenever I log onto Steam or Xbox Live, I can see all my old friends playing, sometimes I get invites, but all I can really do is politely decline and explain how I won't be playing with them anymore.
Maybe your saying "pff get over it fag, find something else to do". Well that could be true if I was busy, but in case you didn't know, when you move to a completely different city (in my case across the country), it's not easy to just move on, it takes awhile to get settled in. I just finished high school in July and I'm not going to University until next September. I do have other things in my life, like I mentioned before, I never used to rely on gaming. But I sure took it's spot in my life for granted. Jobs out here are few and far between because I live rurally. I'm still looking for employment, I'm sure working full-time will help.
Yeah, so.. there's my little rant to get off my chest, I guess I just wanted to see what people though about my situation. Before you suggest moving out I'm way ahead of you - rural living just isn't for me, so in September I'm moving onto campus for school. Guess my problem will be solved soon. But it's having this surreal toll on me that I couldn't have predicted, and I've never really told anyone about this (my friends probably wouldn't understand, but I thought Facepunch might).
:smith:
Minecraft Single player.
Tf2 + Bots
Well gotta wait for Skyrim then
Probably sell my xbox, and uh.

Wouldn't really care, I hardly play online anyways.
Only play CounterStrike and Killing Floor online. Lots of singleplayer games to keep me company.

I'd try to hook up with your mother.
play portal over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over
Get a job or study.

And ov- Wait I don't have portal.
Fuck.
I already can't
I went like one or two years without it I don't rely on it for entertainment anymore
go outside
I just got Live, but my internet is so bad I don't go on alot.
Play Morrowind. And then Mod it to death, reinstall, repeat.
Play every game I own on steam. (over 70, most from that steam deal thing) Then once I am finished with the last one I start back at the first game.
Repeat.
Say "Huh."
Shrug.
Watch some Futurama or Star Trek or Doctor Who or whatever I feel like watching at the moment.
I hardly play online nowadays.
I play on the xbox rather than the computor, so I wouldn't be missing out too much considering there's more than 1 controller.
Call me strange but I'd rather be a "filthy peasent console user" who socialises in person with people, as opposed to "the PC master race" who sit on their own and occaisonally use a microphone
Say "Eh whatever" then either go outside or watch tv.
Play Sims, Simcity, Spore, go through all the Halos, go through all the CoDs, maybe start working out when I'm bored.
3 months ago the old me would of cried in a corner possibly
the new me would probably go "Ah well.."
i would finish the half life 2 games finally.
then go jump out a window.
Too bad
Oblivion, Minecraft and and all HL(2) games
