In MW2 it says my nat type is strict, however before it was open. How do I change it back? I was told to forward my ports but they're already forwarded.
check your router's NAT settings
also, what router do you have
This might be a good place to ask this.
I've got an ZyXEL P-660H-D1 router and I have Strict NAT in mw2, if I enable all the UnPn settings on my router and restart it, my NAT becomes Open, but my friends can't join me who could when I had Strict..Any idea why it's like this? Do I have to wiggle more with the settings on my router?

This aint yo thread
It would help to know what kind of router you have, OP.
Either way, you'll need to get into the router control.
start
run cmd
ipconfig
look for "default gateway"
type those numbers into your browser's address bar
login
from here I can't help you because I don't know what router you have

So you're telling me I should make a new thread for every question I have..?This thread is mw2 and NAT problems and my post had both.

Except it wasn't related to the actual problem in the OP, so you should have made a new thread.

It's a linksys router.
So anyone know what to do since I said what kind of router I have?

Ive got the exact same problem with a different router. Port forwarding didn't fix anything it just changed what it displays.

You could also tell them what's the model of your Linksys router.
People in this thread are stupid.
Double check that you have forwarded port UDP 28960 and UPnP is enabled and your problem should be solved. It is possible that the setting got removed.

If UPnP is enabled, then UDP 28960 is automatically forwarded by MW2. That's what UPnP is designed to do.
All you can do is forward ports. Or UPnP you can't turn off NAT or nothing would work. NAT is what makes a router a router and not a switch.

On my old D-Link router, it didn't. It's always better to do it twice just in case.

Rated informative; I've never had a router that didn't do that.
